Did Mrs. Vilsack belittle Obama supporter and call her "Republican Lite"?
There was an event on CSPAN with Barack Obama speaking in Newton, Iowa where someone here on DU pointed out where someone came up to Barack Obama and told him about how Mrs. Christie Vilsack, the wife of former Iowa governor Tom Vilsack, had belittled the Obama supporter and chastised her for her choice and called her "Republican Lite".

What's laughable is that anyone would call Obama "Republican Lite", but for Mrs. Vilsack, who has ties to the Clintons for years, including this little morsel of information:

"Before ending his presidential bid on Feb. 23, Mr. Vilsack had accumulated a debt of about $430,000. The Clinton campaign has agreed to help erase at least some of that debt. A fund-raising appeal on his behalf could be landing in mailboxes of her donors soon.

Aides to Senator Clinton and Mr. Vilsack say there was no quid pro quo. Instead, they said, there is a personal connection. As a young lawyer, Mrs. Clinton served on the Watergate Committee with Mrs. Vilsack’s brother, Tom Bell."

Christie Vilsack (middle) with Hillary Clinton

This is the same Christie Vilsack who was with Hillary when reports came out that they had stiffed the waitress at the Maid-Rite Restaurant (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/10/middle-class-ex.html).

If you go to this site and click on the Obama link and go to 1 hr. 14 minute mark, you hear the discussion:

Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) in Newton, IA (1 hr. 16 min.)

You can listen to the MP3 of the exchange.

1. Someone told someone that Vilsack had insulted someone?

2. Because apparently "the uglier the better" is the HRC campaign strategy.
I think when the dust settles Democrats will see clearly and know who has run an honorable campaign and who has not.

I do believe the Clinton campaign injecting and punctuating toxic politics including racism into this primary is officially the new low in primary campaigning.

3. There's this funny thing called karma
Even if Hillary wins ugly, she won't get far after that.

6. Winning "ugly" is going to tear the Democratic party apart and
if she does end up getting the nod that way, she will most certainly lose the election.

I've had enough of ugly politics.

10. The thought of losing the Election actually scares me
I can't imagine how wacked it would be to have any of the Repugs running in the White House. I would actually fawn for the dark days of Dubya...

4. I can't understand Iowans forgetting it
Or anybody across the country for that matter. Maybe it's just another incident where whites are just deaf and blind to blatant racism.

5. Considering only 2% of Iowans are black, Obama has done a great job.
It is appalling that a fellow Democrat is having her surrogates continue to press the race card.

7. I think it will be an issue raised up at caucus time
I've seen firsthand that Iowans are taking all this stuff in and the caucus goers who are not in the Clinton corner will certainly make a note of how her campaign has run in Iowa.

8. Good because it's disgusting
I really hope there are many who show up with a list of the garbage, I don't need to tell you.

Did you see the article the other day on the Dubai port deals? Turns out long time Clinton supporters were lobbyists for the foreign company that ended up with those deals. And the ag story. It just goes on and on. I don't see how people can keep ignoring all of it.

9. The list is a good idea...
Perhaps I'll make a thread called "Handy Caucus Guide To Slimy Political Shame".
