Poll question: If John Kerry was running this year, would he be in the lead at this time?

Truth be known, John Kerry was my first choice to run again in 2008. Things changed. After Obama got in the race, I'm not sure I would have supported Kerry after that though.

I've thought about if Kerry did in fact run again this year. Where do you think he would be at this time in the polls?

1. He wasnt my first choice last time...
and he wouldnt be this time either. If he'd run again... he'd be way down on my list. More so than last time.

2. he'd be close or tied
but i believe he'd take NH easily. i have no idea what that means this year, since whomever you listen to, these early states either don't matter this time, or they do.

9. I think that's pretty accurate.
Of course the swiftboats would be gunning down every Iowa cornrow and I give him credit for sparing us all that.

5. Kerry would still win.
I don't think the current field is substantively improved over the also-rans from 2004.

Kerry would easily make the best prez of the bunch.

7. Yes, a small but growing lead
and that would be the story in all the early states, just like in '04. I'm really disappointed that he didn't run but he did what he needs to do and I don't hold it against him.

10. He would be at the bottom of my list
He ran a crappy, pathetic campaign in 2004 and I can't imagine he would do a better job this time around.

12. Kerry wasn't in the lead at this point in the race last time either.
This poll would be more relevant on Friday.

13. Leading based
on his consistency and knowledge on a number of issues, including: Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, the environment, HIV/AIDS discrimination, and countering the impact of Bushonomics, including the bankruptcy bill and mortgage crisis.

14. leading after having kicked arse in the debates
Edited on Mon Dec-31-07 10:07 PM by JI7
he would have been low in the polls at the start with candidates criticizing him and trying to tell how they would be a better candidate than him.

but he would have done well in the debates, way better than the others who claim to be better candidates than him.

also, Kerry is one of the best at retail politics.

15. Kerry would be favored to win and would win.

These sad, sorry, pathetic excuses for candidates cannot hold a candle to him as a campaigner or actual public servant. That should be obvious to voters and if he were a candidate, it would be.
