Obama campaign knocked on 90,000 doors last weekend in Iowa. Can your candidate do that?
Wow. Just wow. And these are all mostly state resident canvassers. THe Obama campaign does not allow out-of-staters much chance to canvass in Iowa as they have more than enough resident volunteers.

Roughly a thousand Barack Obama supporters rallied at a canvass kick-off event in Des Moines this morning, hundreds amassing to knock on doors in frigid single-digit weather.

The event marks one of the final last pushes for support, roughly 55 hours before the Iowa caucuses begin.

Energy levels were high.

...

Obama took the stage with his two daughters, Malia, 9, and Sasha, 6. He announced his wife would be the next first lady, saying she is the rock of the family and is smarter than me, better looking than me, and a better speaker than me.

He highlighted many of his campaign promises and goals, including improving health care, curbing the power of lobbyists and ending the war in Iraq.
He urged audience members to caucus for him.

"Iowans, you have this extraordinary privilege", Obama said. "You will have more to do with electing the next president of the United States than anybody else on the planet. Exercise that privilege."

Campaign officials said they hope roughly half of the people who attended the Des Moines event will volunteer to knock doors. Last weekend, volunteers knocked on more than 90,000 doors.

so on a regular basis.

Your point?

13. Your post was uncalled for!
More power to Mormons and Seventh Day Adventists to knock on doors! It isn't as if they are meeting with lobbyiests....

I have nothing but total admiration for the volunteers for EACH candidate who go out there and knock on doors, do the phone banking, work at the party headquarters, and do all the leg work that make a campaign what it is. They are unsung heroes in my view.

ANd here comes your post which basically disses all that, snarks, and compares them to religions that we as Democrats should know better than to look down upon. Heck, I thought it was the religious Right that looked down on those who worship unlike ourselves. Why take a page out of their playbook?

Phewwwww!

My candidate didn't do that, either.

11. If I lived in Iowa, I would hate having people constantly ring ing my
doorbell and my phone. I'd read the literature in the mailbox and watch their speeches on C-SPAN, but I think the rest is intrusive. Of course, that's just me. Others may like it.

18. This is great, but just for clarification
the Obama campaign does have a number of out-of-state canvassers. I know, because I've traveled with a group from Kansas to canvass in Iowa. I agree, though, that the campaign has enormous volunteer support from Iowans- and it continues to grow. :hi:
