Kucinich throws Iowa support to Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good news, for us Obama supporters.

Kucinich Urges Supporters to
Back Obama on Second Iowa Ballot

For Immediate Release - Tuesday, January 01, 2008

DES MOINES, IA - Democratic Presidential candidate and Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich opened the New Year by publicly asking his Iowa supporters to vote for him in the caucuses this Thursday, and suggesting that if he did not make the 15% threshold, their second ballot should be for Senator Barack Obama. "This is obviously an 'Iowa-only' recommendation, as Sen. Obama and I are competing in the New Hampshire primary next Tuesday where I want to be the first choice of New Hampshire voters.

"I hope Iowans will caucus for me as their first choice this Thursday, because of my singular positions on the war, on health care, and trade. This is an opportunity for people to stand up for themselves. But in those caucus locations where my support doesn't reach the necessary threshold, I strongly encourage all of my supporters to make Barack Obama their second choice. Sen. Obama and I have one thing in common: Change."

5. I think you're mixing up the names "Obama" and "Clinton."
Obama is the ANTI-war candidate.

15. Obviously Rep. Kucinich knows that Senator Obama isn't a war lover
And I think I respect Kucicnich's opinion more than I respect yours.

which certainly is not realistically binding.

6. But according to anti-Obama fans, I thought he was the least liberal candidate.
Unfortunate Dennis does not get more press. He has some good ideas.

14. Gee, maybe Rep. Kucinich respects Senator Obama
for speaking out against the invasion of Iraq when it wasn't fashionable to do so.

9. In 04 he threw support for Edwards....now it is Obama
Kucinich is still my number one. I had been looking at Biden, hoping he might surge beyond what Kucinich could do. I have defended Obama from attacks from mindless herders. But if Mr K can root for him in Iowa, so can I! Gobama in Iowa!

11. No, its the game of politics.
Caucuses are different than straight primaries.....

DK is still #1 for me.

27. if you read the press release
Kucinich stresses that it is for the benighted system known as the Iowa caucuses only, and then only if he doesn't get the required 15 percent.

13. I think it's more a shot at Edwards
Not necessarily a shot at Edwards' policies, just a vote of no confidence in his long-term viability in future primaries. I have long thought that the best strategy for the anti-Hillary forces is to unite on one candidate, and the one who I think has the best chance of beating her is Obama. If Edwards doesn't win Iowa, I think it's over for him... the best possible result for Obama (and anyone else dedicated to stopping Clinton).

makes me wretch.

Ugh, she's a horrible candidate.

18. No One's Opinion Will Make Up My Mind, But
Kucinich is one of the handful of people in the political arena whom I truly respect. This is pretty much as if Howard Zinn gave the thumbs up. It's at that level of integrity.

20. I'm not so sure. I'm Obama supporter, but I consider DK wacky.
Only thing I can figure is he is making a statement AGAINST Clinton.

I don't think the endorsement is a plus, all in all. Not sure.

25. It is also clearly not a vote of confidence in Edwards
Both have campaigned this year overtly appealing to similar left of center voters, much more directly than either Clinton or Obama.
