Maybe Edwards should go third party
Edited on Thu Jan-03-08 09:31 PM by sjdnb
It may be his message is too assertively progressive for the Democrats. Not knocking Obama or Hillary, they're messages are just more centrist/bipartisan. And, it may be that Edward's message is just a little too left of center to fit the party at this point in time.

14. Yeah, and Nader lost 2000 for Gore - NOT
The fact is, election fraud/dirty tricks, the courts, and the Florida Election Commission lost 2000 for Gore - not Nader.

of the Republicans that they will support limiting all elections to the two major parties, even if they do not represent far left/liberal/progressive principles?

So, although another party might better represent us we need to come over because otherwise your party might lose?

That the kind of calculated, political, manipulation of democracy that is the problem, not that some might feel a third party is the place for them.

9. No.
I support Edwards. I oppose this suggestion. We cannot afford anything like the disastrous Bush presidency to ever happen again.

Ever.

He's no more progressive than McGovern
Edwards' current message is to the left of Hillary, but it's still in the Democratic mainstream.

18. Yeah, and I don't recall there being a President McGovern
BTW - that was the first campaign I ever worked for as a volunteer and he was labeled a 'radical' and subjected to a smear campaign as such.

20. More than 7 points (which it will probably end up as)
is not close in the Iowa caucus and Hillary may even overtake him given counties with the big cities are slower to report.

21. He would make an excellent Attorney General.
That uses him to many of his best talents, and gives him more experience if he wants to try running again in 8 years or so.
