The communities that still utilize a handcount are concentrated in rural parts of Cheshire, Grafton, and Carroll Counties. it's the lack of verification. Why is that so hard to get? Can no one ask for verification of a vote count without being labeled a 'sore loser', or a 'vote fraud freak'..A definitive fix, to the lack of confidence would be to hand-count a percentage of votes in "every" election. Imagine that? Open source code, and paper ballots. No problem....maybe the next state..or the state after that..or...maybe we'll find out again in the general election.
