15. Obama is running five points worse than Hillary in Ohio in a poll out today
Notice how that was swept under the rug by certain folk who profess to have such a keen interest in electability?

6. And that doesn't even take into account...
...how dispirited the Republicans are and how energized Democrats are, and how energized independents sick of the Republican mess are.

Republican hate of Hillary won't be enough to mobilize Republicans to a victory. Racism against Obama won't be enough to mobilize Republicans to a victory. Any run-of-the-mill "electability" issue people get so worried about pales by comparison to the anti-Republican dynamics now in play.

Sure, we still have to fight for Democratic victory as hard as we can, and take nothing for granted -- and random, unpredicted catastrophe can befall any campaign -- but polls like this don't show how strong an edge ANY of our Democrats are going to have over ANY of the Republicans.

8. It's basically a tie. This poll and the result mean nothing.

9. Especially without state polls from the same polling service.
If it's a tie, that means the EC will be very close, too. And as we've seen the past two years, one or two states can completely alter the race, popular vote or not.

11. With the small exception
that Hillary has higher negatives. 43% Definitely vote against her. That means the other side only needs to pick up another 8% to win.

12. Those numbers make it close enough
for the repubs to steal the election without too many questions being asked.

13. That Close Means We LOSE in the Electoral College!
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 01:53 AM by AndyTiedye
Up 1 or 2 points in the popular vote ISN'T winning if you're a Democrat running for President!
The Repiglicans have more of an advantage in the Electoral College than that, and they steal.
Gore won the popular vote by a lot more than that, but we never got to see him in the White House

Aside from that, all of those are within the MOE, so it is a statistical TIE, which is an absolutely pathetic showing,
considering how unpopular the current regime and its policies are, especially the war, and that the Repigs promise more of the same.

16. Please note that at this stage in the PRIMARIES, we are not debating the Repugnants...
we are trying to select our own candidate. Time to measure our candidates when we have a nominee and they can attack Repugs directly. Polls going one way or another right now are fantasy, not reality based.

We have three leaders right now. From this posting board, they are all equally hated by the posters. Dunno why. We are Dems, we really like to eat our own.
