Okay, some ground rules, though.

1) It can be any of the folks that were in the running for the nomination this year, past or present.

2) It can be any Democrat, but they have to be currently living. (So no Harry Truman or FDR clones, lol).

3) It can't be Bill Clinton, 'cuz the Constitution says he can't be president anymore. I know, I know, the current occupants of the WH don't give two whits about the Constitution, but we do.

4) And they have to meet the requirements set forth in the Constitution for qualifications (US citizen, 35 y/o, etc.)

I still like Bill Bradley from 2000. I think I'd go with him.

The Gore candidacy just seemed weighted down with Clinton baggage. No matter that Gore was not to blame, but I think voters were just tired of hearing Rush and the right-wing screamers dump on Clinton/Gore.

I don't know who my 'ideal' candidate would be. Bradley is nearly 60 now. I was a bit surprised he never announced a run. Seems like he woulda run in 2004 if he was still interested. What more can you want than a Rhodes scholar, athlete, and Senator? The guy had it all going for him.
