1. Nope
I can't stand Edwards. Nope, not at all....

Then again, Kerry isn't a person I'm hopping up and down over either. ABB, but damn if I'm not disappointed in the choices we seem have left.

2. Hope so!
I have advocated for an Edwards/Dean ticket for a long time. Wish it would happen.

3. Dean will do whats right....I trust his instincts.
I'll be seeing Edwards today in Dayton, Ohio. Many local Dean supporters will be there too. I think Edwards already has the Dean vote in Ohio.

4. Will he? I doubt it. Should he? No.
I doubt he will because he hasn't already. I think the only thing that would make him endorse Edwards would be the real likelihood that Edwards could wrest the nomination away from Kerry. That doesn't seem at all likely now, so endorsing Edwards would be moot and ineffectual.

8. No, if Dean endorses Edwards and he loses
he will be reduced to the Al Gore effect and position in the party. He needs to endorse the winner so he can keep getting his message out and maintain some clout. If he backs Edwards...Kerry will pay him no attention for the next 8 years. If he backs Kerry there are several top positions he can get, like Health and Human services. Asking Dean to endorse Edwards will harm Dean's political career possibly forever.

... doesn't the media do that enough?

13. Dean doesn't seem to be planning on or hoping for
anything in a Kerry administration. His political ambitions are far higher than that. Re his other plans, to be announced on March 18, here's a preview:

http://blog.deanforamerica.com/archives/003836.html

There are many ways to bring change. We are leaving one path, but we will follow a new path that will lead to the same destination: taking our country back.

Our new effort will seek nothing less than to change America by:

• Reviving our democracy and bringing new people into politics

• Supporting candidates and office-holders who tell the truth, stand up for what they believe, and oppose the radical agenda of the far right

• Fighting against special interests, and

• Fighting for progressive policies like health care for all, investment in children, equal rights under the law, fiscal responsibility, and a national security policy that makes America stronger by working with allies and advancing progressive American values.

Everyone involved in our campaign should stay involved, stay together, stay with the Democratic Party, and support the Democratic nominee. As I have said before, I strongly urge my supporters not to be tempted by independent or third-party candidates.

snip

I will do everything I can to ensure that the 2004 Democratic nominee runs as a true progressive -- with an agenda for working Americans and their hopes for a better future. Because that is the way to win in 2004.
-----------

Further, I find your suggestions for him insulting. Do you mean them to be? Too, I can't imagine after what the Kerry campaign did to Dean that he'd be the least bit interested in anything a Kerry administration (and boy aren't we counting our chickens before they're hatched??) would offer him.

5. Not sure...
It seems Dean would rather be a power broker at this point with his allocation of delegates, which was greater than Edwards when he left the race. I would hope he gives it to Edwards, personally, but I don't think he'll do it so readily despite the meetings; Dean's going to want something in return, I'm sure. Perhaps a position?

...I don't see him doing it anytime soon, unless Edwards starts to get very close to Kerry in the delgate countr.

12. Delegates count to get your issues onto the Party Platform... so NO!
I don't see Dean endorsing anyone until a Nominee is picked at the Convention. Why should he? I certainly hope he does not! If he does, he gives up some of our power! I hope that he is looking forward, not only to the convention, but to really begin to take this party and the country back to the ideals we use to stand for. I voted for Dean in the California primary, as did all my family!

Vote your choice, not the polls!

16. Will he? I doubt it. Should he? I don't think so.
Endorsing Edwards would only make sense if Edwards really has a chance to block Kerry from getting the nomination. At this point I think that Kerry is pretty much unstoppable.

Dean has made it clear that he will support the nominee in November and he urged all of his supporters to join him in getting Bush* out of office.

I believe that Dean is hammering out the details of the new organization that will arise from Dean For America on March 18 and has nothing to gain by reinvolving himself in the primary battle, especially in what is likely to be another losing effort.

17. Howard Dean should endorse Howard Dean
that would be fairest to his supporters, I think. But barring that, an endorsement of Dennis Kucinich would be a reasonable call, since much of what Dean supporters claimed to like in their candidate exists in Kucinich--in spades. The man has it, in walk and talk. The same can not be said of Edwards.

18. No and HELL NO!
Why would he endorse a candidate so completely out of synch with his beliefs? I believe he should continue to encourage his voters to send his delegates to the convention and make a show of force there, so at least his message gets heard, and possibly partially adopted.

Endorsing Edwards at this point would prevent that from happening.

19. No
I hope he doesn't. Gov. Dean weilds a lot of power right now in the hearts and minds of his followers. I hope he endorses the nominee, once that nominee is determined. To endorse Edwards, only to have Edwards not become the nominee, will further marginalize Dean's followers.

Dean followers are already one of the groups most precariously teetering on the brink of Nader. Even though Dean got a raw deal from the Dem powers-that-be, he needs to show his supporters that we need to rise above these differences and support the nominee for the greater good.

If Dean wanted to endorse Edwards I think he would have done it a long time ago. But a lot of Dean supporters are swinging to Edwards.

24. he already said his supporters were non-transferable
if he were to do it it demonstrates his disregard for those people.

Its the one thing he's done right and just one of a staggeringly long list of things the general did wrong.
