Do you think there will be greater than usual voter fatigue this November?
The political fighting has started awfully early this year. Is that a good thing for us, or bad? There is a fine line between being in the public eye and a candidate being overexposed like some flavor of the moment pop star. How do we make sure that the public doesn't tire of our message before the election?

2. Oh, that's a great question
My first instinct was to say no, they won't tire of it b/c there are so many important issues. But, then I stopped to think that, as I have learned, we on DU are atypical in that regard. Then, again, I do feel that the average voter is somewhat more concerned than at times in the past as well. Maybe they are not up on all the seemingly endless list of issues, but there are several big ones.

Hopefully, they are as concerned as some of the rest of us. Hopefully, they will not lose that concern. And, hopefully, that will keep away voter fatigue.

3. NOT on theDemocratic Side
The party has plenty of time to come together. If Kerry is wise, he will make sure to appeal to the activist wing of the party.

GOP voters may be "fatigued," or more likely discouraged. Democratic voters will smell victory and turn out in droves.

5. Good point...
People tend to change the channel if their team is losing badly in the 4th quarter - they just can't bear to watch. Let's hope for some repub-demoralizing punditry and polling on the news channels around September and October.

"Wolf, I just don't know how the Republicans try to get back in the game with this sort of a point deficit. I really think that the best they can hope for is to close the gap and make a respectable showing at this point."

One can dream....

4. NO. People are Pi$$ed Off--they will get out in high #'s this fall!
Report from Ohio:

Southwest Ohio has a very high number of Republicans calling Dem HQ's and switching to the Dem Party and asking for our endorsed slate so they can vote Dem.

Phone banking shows extremely high support for Kerry.

Early turnout is looking great--more volunteers than there is work for.

Sunny, beautiful day about 55 degrees.

Today will be a great day for Democrats all over the country.

6. Yes
The war will probably take a bigger toll on the national psyche, and having the contenders mostly in agreement... well we'll see what happens in November.
