Closing Gun Show Loophole bill passes, 53-48! McCain-Reed amendment.
Edited on Tue Mar-02-04 12:28 PM by flpoljunkie
The Bush administration fought to keep the Gun Liability Bill "clean"--so that it would not include this amendment and the assault weapons ban. They lost both votes!

4. Watched McCain on CSPAN this morning
Kinda glad we're not up against him this year--there might not be such a landslide against Bush if he were.

9. It's an amendment that allows off duty law enforcement
people carry concealed weapons across state lines.

Kennedy said that goes against places that have voted for no guns:
local issue vs federal issue.

5. Great News!!
Let's see the GOP try to explain to America's voters why criminals ought to be able to evade background checks and buy assault weapons.

6. I was sitting here watching the entire debate, and the subsequent
vote. I was proud that John Kerry played such an important role!
