Having not watched any of the "debates" because my candidate was invisible
(figuratively AND literally), my only info on them comes (mostly) from here and (a little) from brief bits on television. Switching between Scarborough and Faux Friends for five minutes in the morning as I get dressed, I get a taste for what is said and how it is being covered by the corporate media.

My take this morning is that the rethugs spent their time last night attacking Clinton. Contrast that with the Democrats attacking each other and I see further trouble on the horizon.

Until the candidates (and supporters) realize that the cons are the enemy and turn their focus in that direction, all they are doing is providing ammunition to the pukes and turning off voters who are looking for a way out of the Bush* disaster.

Why, oh why, don't HC, BO and JE take the tact of "this is how the repugs have fucked up the country and this is what I will do to fix things." Instead, they act like five-year olds and answer any criticism with, "Yeah. But you did this and that is just as bad." People do not care what Clinton did in college or what Obama did in the Illinois Senate. What will they do to fix things now?

They should (IMHO), constantly attack the * administration on every issue and propose ways to repair the damage. In this way, they remind voters how bad things are and that they are offering a change (it should be more than a slogan) from the pukes and keep the discussion on issues.

Of course, if they really do not intend to change anything, they are doing exactly what will insure that nothing changes. The tactic they are using will either throw the election to the pukes or guarantee that the policies of the Dem will mirror those we have endured since before Raygun.

What should have been a glorious celebration of an historic campaign has been turned into a playground spitting fight. Damn them!

1. Agreed.
In fact, I suspect the repubs made a specific point of NOT getting too nasty in their debate with the ideas of making themselves look better thatn the Dems.

its sad- what coulda been. People of all political persuasions are fed up with this nonsense, worried about economic & environmenal collapse, the toll of war and empire building follies of this administration.
