How many people here voted on paper ballots?
I did. I voted absentee for that very reason.

1. Not An Option In Texas
If you vote early or even absentee, you still end up voting on a machine with no paper trail... :(

3. Hmm
Here in St. Louis, we still use the cards with the infamous hanging chads.

Not that I've ever noticed a hanging chad when I've voted.

8. Did you really? I voted with a card, but it was an ink card, not
a punch card. I thought that was what we had to use where we don't have those great, modern, hi-tek machines.

5. In Wisconsin, we've got machine-readable paper ballots
You "connect the arrows" next to the people you're voting for, and then slide the ballot in the machine. If there are stray marks that the machine tries to read but can't, or if you've voted for too many people, it'll kick the ballot out and you have to do it over.

So, although we have no idea if the machine's actually counting ballots accurately, we do have a paper ballot for recounts.

6. I'm going to vote soon
but last time we had paper ballots, optical scan I think. The one where you draw a line with a pen.

9. That's what our absentee ballots were like.
My county is computerized so we are asking everyone to vote absentee.
