Senators Clinton and Obama- are you ready to lead? Prove it!
http://www.democracyforamerica.com/ProveIt

President Bush wants the Senate to pass retroactive immunity for telecommunication companies who spied on Americans. For the President, this isn't just about letting his friends at AT&T and Verizon off the hook. He knows this is the American people's last chance to hold the Bush administration accountable for their warrantless wiretapping of innocent Americans.

The key vote is scheduled for late Monday afternoon and the count is down to the wire. We need 41 Senators to stand up to President Bush and right now we have only 36.

Senators Clinton and Obama are the missing votes. If Senator Clinton or Obama stands up and leads from the floor of the U.S. Senate and calls upon the 8 senators that have endorsed their campaigns to stand with them, we'll have the votes we need and the American people will win.

3. Why should I vote for a Democrat who doesn't stand up to this?
Someone, give me one good reason OTHER THAN the proverbial 'lesser of two evils' baloney.

11. I know that it may seem not very good for Edwards now, but that really isn't the case
It depends what happens on Feburary 5

Edwards does not need to win a state, but he needs to get as many delegates as possible between now and the convention

Obama and Clinton may not win on the first round at the convention, and then it could be anybody's game

4. Bravo. Get back to DC and do your jobs - you have power NOW, use it NOW
This one is important. Don't tell me pretty words about what you'll do after you're elected president. Show me what you'll do now. That way, I might start believe you give a damn.

5. They do need to vote on this.
Florida doesn't count, and it's not going to count (thanks to the DLC) so neither of them have an excuse not to be there on Monday.

I would find it very hard to justify a vote for Obama, if this fascist bullshit passes, and he could have prevented it.

But I wouldn't hold my breath. They seem to have only one goal, and that is to win at all cost to the party, the hell with votes and the people of this country! If they don't go back and rally congress on this, they will never see my vote!

33. Exactly. This is a deciding moment for me on these two - there needs to be leadership
or they've proved to me they can't be leaders. I don't care who is doing whatever else, these two need to get back to DC and make themselves heard, loudly, on this issue.

If they don't get back to the Senate and make themselves heard, loudly, as leaders on this issue, then they've made clear what they're all about. They have no interest in holding corrupt power accountable, and that will say all you need to know.

What will tomorrow bring, I wonder?
