Kerry cant let Bush change the tone...

Lately Bush has been trying to soften his image and I think Kerry needs to run some ads showing the Bush that everyone despises.

They need to show the bumbling, inept, arrogant asshole that he truly is.

I think he needs to run an ad that goes for the throat right now...our own little Willie Horton ad...

1. I agree--we should not let the barrage of attacks by Karen
or anyone else go unanswered. I have not seen a Bush ad, but from what I have read, These flag waving ads, capitalizeing on the grief of people and portraying him as "strong" need to be countered ASAP. Show him sitting in the classroom as dumb as a sheep being sheared wai9ting for his instructions from someone else perhaps. In any event, it is not the act of a strong leader at all. It is the act of a scared little boy and then the lies--point out the lies and get on the AWOL thing ASAP. Just subtly--but honestly ad sincerely. Bush never looks sincere--he pplays the part of a president on TV and does it badly.

I hope Kerry has some good , aggressive and smart staffers that will do it as it is necessary and that is every day.

3. Very true
Kerry needs to set the pace of this fight. And I think he knows it. When bush called him the other night, attempting to make it look the same as when the president calls the winner of a sports event, Kerry didn't lighten up. His speech was strong, and he nailed bush over and over. Likewise, we need to contribute to the tone, not simply by putting our posts on d.u., but by bringing the message to our local newspapers, etc. We can be subtle, for example noting with distaste his exploiting 9-11; or we can be in his face, by using images of the death & destruction he has caused in Iraq. But we must be a constant, steady voice in the wilderness of the American media.

4. Put your money where your mouth is
Contribute to MoveOn.org's fund to run anti-Bush ads. It is much better that a third party do this, and these people have proven themselves to be able to promote the cause.

DUer's should make regular contributions to this organization from now until November. We need to have the message get out there that paints Bush in the light of harsh reality, and let Kerry promote the vision of what Democrats will do to make our country a better place.

Disclaimer: I am not associated with MoveOn.org, and don't know anyone in the organization. My only connection is the contributions I have made and will continue to make.

6. Absolutely
cancel a dinner out, skip a movie, use the library instead of purchasing a new book. Give the money to MoveOn, Kerry or the DNC instead. That's what our family is doing this year. No vacation, no eating out.
