CNN is doing to Kerry what they did to Gore
They seem to present Kerry as a Waffler, and in a bad light, while bush is presented in glowing terms. It seems more like presenting free advertising for bush, instead of reporting the news. This is the same crap they did in 2000.

Does anyone have a phone number for CNN?

7. Well, that isn't the point
The real issue here is, CNN is misrepresenting Kerrys stances.

They want to get into a close, detailed examination of Kerry's life and voting record? Fine.

But why the fuck to they only pretend to be journalists when they are discussing Bush's opposition?

If these people were even partially credible, they would have torn Bush to pieces by now.

Personally, I hope Bush pursues the "Kerry is a waffler" angle.

That leaves Kerry open to come back with something like, "Yes, Mr. President, it is true that I voted for your war resolution and now oppose the war. I defend my voting record, and I voted for your resolution because I trusted that what you were telling me was the truth. I don't think I will be making that mistake again, and I don't think the people of this country will be either."

Something along those lines.

10. Texas Souffle
That was his nickname during the very, very brief time he was with the Texas Air Guard. He earned this nickname because he "looked good, but was full of hot air"

8. How can Kerry be both an indecisive waffler & a staunch liberal?
Like everything else with Bush, this line of attack is stupid. How can Bush claim, on the one hand, that Kerry has taken both sides of every issue, and yet be a dyed in the wool, unwavering liberal? It's obviously meant to highlight Bush as steady and determined. But Kerry could actually use this line of attack in his favor if he presents the Pres as a radical hardliner.

9. Kerry needs to get himself invited to a couple of these shows
and use a DK or AS technique to put these obnoxious chatterers on notice. If they are going to dissemble and distort, confront them to their faces and let them know that they are not going to get away with it.

11. Unfortunately, the "shows" ask whom they want..
Edited on Thu Mar-04-04 09:34 AM by SoCalDem
They all wanted Kerry when they were hoping he would trash Dean or the other candidates, but now that he is the presumptive candidate, they will carefully "ration" his exposure..

It's so much more "fun" to trash someone when they are not there to defend themselves..

Bastards...all of them..

12. Kerry is being....
(Al) Gored by the media already....on MSNBC, CNN, nad of course on FOX News. Bush has waffled on every damn issue himself but there is no talk of that. I guess only Kerry's flip flopping of this issues is important. I am telling you, I watched Tweety last night and the Goring of Kerry is beginning. I remember in 2000 when I watched these shows I knew something was going very wrong. Objectivity went out the window, substance went out the window and defending Bush was the in thing to do!

15. Waffling
Waffling seems to be the Repubs stock diss these days. Remember the Waffler in Chief, Clinton. Then Gore was a waffler. Now Kerry? Can't they come up with new material?

16. For once I agree with the media
Kerry is a waffler. His "I'm not relly a libral" schtick only adds to that.
