Why Democrats Love Kerry
Here's what blm and a significant number of DUers, cough, have been saying for, what, three years now?

Why Democrats Love Kerry

By Monika McDermott
NEW YORK, March 2, 2004
CBS NEWS

EXCERPT…

Throughout the primary season, voters have expressed a preference for electability and experience over passion and empathy, allowing Kerry to easily outpace two of his main competitors, former Vermont Governor Howard Dean and North Carolina Senator John Edwards respectively.

SNIP…

BEATING BUSH: Democrats are angry with President Bush and his administration, and they want him out of office. Throughout the primary season, Kerry has benefited from this anger, as he has been consistently perceived as the candidate most likely to beat the incumbent president.

SNIP…

BEING PRESIDENT: The focus on Kerry’s electability throughout the primary process may have obscured the fact that Democratic primary voters also believe Kerry is the candidate most qualified to lead the country, especially given current national conditions.

SNIP…

LOOKING AHEAD Kerry’s performance so far in the primaries bodes well for his likely general election candidacy for several reasons. Democrats throughout the primaries have expressed satisfaction with the notion of Kerry as their standard bearer, and he has performed strongest among base Democratic groups whose turnout in the general election could be crucial to a Democratic victory. In addition, Kerry has performed well among swing voter groups targeted by Republicans.

Shocking as it may seem, some people love Kerry as much as others love Dean or Clark or Edwards.

They like him, they really really like him. :)

9. There's a reason, 'Rat!
We believe John Kerry will restore Law and Order to the nation.

Here's where I think he should start:

11. Really.
It is no doubt that Democrats will be voting for Kerry. But what Kerry needs to focus on is getting the independent vote that is what will decide this election.

15. You are correct, MATTMAN!
Kerry needs to get his message out and understood by the masses. The guy really is the best qualified candidate to serve as President of the United States. He is strong on national defense. He is progressive in terms of social and economic programs. He believes in protecting the US Constitution with his life.

Compare that with Smirk. From what people in business -- on the whole, a conservative, me-first crowd if ever there was one -- are talking like Bush is damaged goods. Every chance we get, we have to help spread the message: Bush is a CROOK! If he wasn't, he'd testify about what he knows regarding Osama and 9-11. Once enough people get that message, not even the lone-nut freepers will support the Little Turd from Crawford.

For me, when making converts, I use either approach where appropriate.

John Kerry has what it takes to be a great President! It's more than background, the guy has REAL character. That, no money can buy.

18. Hi, gottaB!
This guy goes it alone, when he has to.
Can you imagine what he can do when we're WITH him?
Holy cat. There's nothing that we can't accomplish. Nothing.

Sen. John Kerry in 1992 presided over a Senate probe
of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International.
The inquiry had led him to call 84-year-old Clark Clifford
to testify, angering fellow Democrats.

Now, about his stance on Gay Marriage...it needs some help from someone besides the right wing advisers he is using.

21. ABBsolutely.
Civil rights are high on Kerry's agenda. He said same-sex couples deserve the same Constitutional rights as everyone. That's what most Liberal Democrats think, too.

I will be very happy with that man as my president! Just hope he picks the General to stand beside him, and inherit the job in 2012.
