Yes, Kerry will change the direction of the country (Bush ad)
Just like Clinton changed the direction of the country from his Bush 41.
The direction was wrong. Clinton raised taxes the right way and got us out of the deficit, gave us a strong military, and plenty of jobs.

Kerry must explain that stopping FURTHER tax cuts is NOT RAISING taxes and that to say that just shows more dishonesty from the Bush administration. To stop Bush's tax cuts in the future will benefit the country by helping to free up needed resources to protect the health, education, and infrastructure.

Kerry should not be ashamed of CHANGING his mind. A wise person will change their mind in the face of new evidence and information...of which there is plenty now that the Bush cabal has been exposed.

This is what Kerry needs to be saying!

4. Look at a country (like Honduras) who pays little in taxes
and you see a country will terrible infrastructure, starving children, an education system that isn't worth damn, if you are born poor, you stay poor. If you want the luxuries this country it is simple, you have to pay for them.

That is the millionaires problems, they want the middle class to pay for great resources this country has to offer.

We won't "cut our taxes" out of the deficit.

5. Maybe smarter wasn't the best word
Perhaps "responsible," as in to future generations.

6. true...more responsible to the future but also to now
do we want better education, socialized medicine, the best scientific research etc? It does need payed for, despite what the bush administration thinks.

bush has cut spending to so many programs and even if we remove the war spending and other waste in order to fully fund education and to create a truly equitable system of social justice in healthcare, welfare and scientific prgress - we have to pay for it. Borrowing as we are doing now isnt just going to hurt future generations, it will hurt a lot sooner than that. I would happily pay more taxes if we got something more than funding for bush's imperial adventures.

7. Yes, I agree
You correctly point out the number of ways in which defecit spending is both irresponsible and dumb.

and see just how much the US pays in interest on the debt every year. Enough to fund all of george's unfunded programs. staggeringly this is not his fault (not everything is) but he is sure making it worse.

3. Yeah, what're you talking about?
Edited on Thu Mar-04-04 12:27 PM by Terry_M
There's other sources of money, like cutting waste, cutting the military budget... Also cutting tax loopholes for corporations, making sure they don't move offshore just so they don't have to pay taxes...
