What do we do when Bush steals the GE?
Come on, we all know he will. Unless we win by 20+%, the bias of the EC and Diebold/BBV *will* make it look like a tie, which Bush will once again claim as a win. Nothing is going to happen in time to stop it.

It's going to happen. What are we gonna do?

10. I assume you are being sarcastic!
I don't believe he CAN WIN! I know way too many people who have told me they voted for him in 2000 but will not again!

There are several reasons that make that difference.

1. Most people who voted for Nader now realize they made a BIG mistake.
2. There were a lot of people who voted for a change after 8 years of a Dem. President, not to mention they were very upset with Clinton. That problem isn't there this time.
3. Lots of Dems, Inds. and Pubs are very disturbed by Bush. More people will vote this time than last.

The rest of the reasons are directly tied to the dumb things Bush & Co. are doing every day to upset yet another group of people.

I think the only real supporters he still has are his extreme right wing base, and they sure aren't a majority of the country.

not the butterfly BS that happened in 2000, but a sheet of paper with a list of the candidates and a sharpie marker. Stop their cheating before it happens, if the repubs argue they expose themselves for the cheating assholes they really are.

I hope there's no need for a Revolution. If there is, I want access to the best weapons I can afford.

35. Not only that....
but I want large caliber guns, like a .50 BMG rifle, that's capable of penetrating light armor.

Ever notice how they try and ban the stuff that would be effective against the Government? .50 BMGs are NEVER used in crime, because they're HUGE, and impossible to conceal. The ONLY reason they're trying to ban them is because they can defeat the kind of armor commonly used in armored limos. If the proles revolt, they want to be safe.

Power flows from the barrel of a gun. THAT's the reason the Second Amendment is there...because the founding fathers had just been through a revolution against a government that had tried to seize their guns. "Power to the People" is more than just a spiffy slogan...

33. What makes you think the military would take Bush's side?
Remember, he's treated them even shittier than he has the rest of us. Active duty and veterans alike. Not to mention those in the Guard and Reserves who got a Hell of a lot more than they ever signed on for. I'm not convinced they would fall in line behind Junior if he was obviously not elected. Hell, they probably would have revolted the last time if they had any idea what these fucking sons of bitches had planned.

And yes, it WAS all planned in advance. ALL of it, including the "new PERLEHarbor" needed to kick things off.

instead we have seen a series of major party realignments every 30 to 50 years.unfortunately we're about 25 years overdue for another one and the stagnation in the American political system is showing that

1787 Nov. 13. "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure." (to W. S. Smith, B.12.356)

19. Unfortunately, I believe you're right
There has never been a doubt in my mind that they WILL try it again. Their only problem is that they have to make it look different this time. Take people completely off guard just like they did in 2000.
And my point is this:

If these voting machines do exactly what we're all afraid they're going to, how will we ever know?? How many are really going to be willing to question the impartiality of a bunch of computers?? And those who do, will only be ammunition for the republicans. I can just hear it now.....
"Will you just listen to those crazy leftists! They really are sore losers. First they said the election in 2000 was rigged in some way, so we spent a gajillion dollars 'improving' the process with these nifty new touch screen machines, and now they're trying to accuse a bunch of computers of having a right wing bias"

Oh you just KNOW Novak, and all the rest of them, will be shouting it from the rooftops.

I believe America, as we knew it, was dissolved on Dec 12,2000. I really have NO hope for this election.
It is my GREATEST wish that I be proven wrong.

44. you guys beat me to it!
I specifically clicked into this thread to write, "Blame Dean and Nader."

It's turning into a huge joke with the contradiction of a candidate who won't call anyone out on the "conspiracy" issue of voter fraud, but whom so many people here (at a board that started because of a stolen election) simply expect to win because he's magically electable.

What the hell are we supposed to do besides keep informing people now and hope they realize the fraud? When the time comes, the fraud will either work, and everyone accepts it, as before, or it will be exposed - and that will lead to revolution or massacre. Or some mammoth capitulation where everyone knows it but no one ever gives a shit again.

A harrowing set of possibilities.

Of the tactics mentioned here, I think the one that will work best is tax withdrawal - why not banks, too? And stop buying all that junk Christmas season! This is the fastest way that a determined populace could shut down the U.S. economy and build pressure for real change.

But the result there may also be to make capital and the Right decide to punish the people.

38. UN monitors

Without a paper trail there is little hope for a recount of a hacked election. It seems like such simple solution to the problem, but people have been fighting it tooth and nail. Which only makes one more suspect of the motive behind such objection. To me it seems obvious, if you can't win an election, steal it (again).

Some have suggested requesting UN monitors like they do in 3rd world countries. Wouldn't that go up someone's butt sideways.

Demand a recall! in the streets if necessary

On edit -

The above is my kneejerk reaction to this question. Sorry I avoided a serious question.

If the election gets stolen AGAIN, I will have two choices.

1) Leave this country behind, take my children somewhere safe.

2) Take to the streets in an effort to save this country for my children and future generations.

I'm buying weapons and rations in advance.

If you really think the election (and all future elections) will be stolen you should find something else to interest you, becuase political involvement would be irrelevant.

Or you could turn into some sort of guerrilla or something and take "direct action".
