it's still twice as much as it was when Clinton was President. I don't have any stats available, but try asking someone next time you're at a gas station, "Are you better off now than you were four years ago?" Not at the gas pump you're not.

I do think "they" manipulate gas prices, etc, to try to convince people that all is just swell in America. But gas prices are something that voters tend to see very often. You are correct that this may be a huge factor.
