How about this for a Campaign Ad:
Edited on Thu Mar-04-04 07:11 PM by zwade
I only want 1/2 of trippi's salary for coming up with it too!
I'll share with blm since his post made me think of it.

Video of Iran Contra, other scandals Kerry has exposed..

fade to Bu*h scandals...

Then have Kerry proclaiming himself as the one who has exposed the most corruption.. and pointing to a video of Bus$$%#$ .. Declare that he is now exposing the biggest scandal of them all.. 4 years of bush tyranny..

Hmmm.. well it looks good in my brain anyway.

2. All one needs to do is to look at Kerry's history
most intelligent people would then conclude that he is OUR FIGHTER - the person we need to heal this country.

3. I'm getting a good mental picture of it
I think Kerry needs to bring those things up- he's a corruption exposer, not one that perpetrates it.

4. I just wish we'd cover what the media misses.
I saw my first Dem ad tonite. It stunk. Some dour low hard-to-hear voice complaining about losing job and overtime in a messy setting that made me want to identify with my TV's speaker grille.

Bush's ad was right on target. Drilling in their new mantra: Stability in changing times.

I think people are starved for information. Quick. Clear.

Not too serious. I'd love to see them say three Al Gore lies were themselves lies, so be careful out there. See JohnKerry.com/pastlies.
Cover, Al's three, Ken Lay slept at WH during Clinton time. ...

A little didactic on how to listen to media.

Force those Sunday pundits to backtrack, and maybe dispell Dems lie, and turn it into Repubs lie, and lie about lying.

5. Unfortunately, the public would need MASSIVE amounts of context
Because the current media has so thouroghly underreported the Bush scandals, many people would have no idea what the ad was talking about.

Plus people have a piss-poor understanding of even recent history, thanks again to the media, so the whole Iran-Contra/BFEE angle may be difficult to convey in a 30-60 second ad.

If you're looking for something to unite the base, this sort of ad might be a good idea, but it would probably not do well among less-involved, and more poorly-informed swing voters.

6. That could seriously backfire.
As the Kerrybots know, I have openly questioned the validity of Kerry's supposed attempts at attacking the Bush Criminal Empire. Mainly because they have amounted to nothing so far, and the Bush Criminal Empire is now bigger and more dangerous than ever.

If I know this, you bet your ass KKKarl Rove knows it. If Kerry runs with "exposing Bush corruption" as a message, the questions will be raised - by the Puke media, not by Democrats like myself - as to why Kerry failed to stop the BCE.
