Junior's fucking commercial is on every goddamn 10 minutes!
:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

This is excruciating, but in the long run it could be beneficial. Overexposure always reaches its peak, then comes the total rejection.

17. I saw a great Move On ad on CNN
because they were comparing Bush ads to Move On ads.

It showed a man coming home late at night from work; his wife is sleeping, & he's worried about bills. It infers he has 2 jobs.
And it talks about Bush cutting out overtime pay.

It's very effective.

32. If he is working two jobs, he has no overtime hours....duh
You cant get OT unless you put in more than 8 hours.
When I had two jobs, I put in 8 hours on my day job and 3 to
4 hours in my evening job. There was just no more time left
to make OT an issue.

36. Well I saw the guy from Move On on CNN today
& they showed the commercial. He said it inferred the guy had 2 jobs because he was home so late. In the voice over, it talks about Bush being against working families.Overtime pay was mentioned.

Anyway, the message is Bush stinks for working families!

19. Yeah, read it here
and I almost hope its wrong, frankly.

I wonder if those ads shouldn't be seen by as many people as possible - it exposes the greedy, slimy, unAmerican thugs for what they are.

But yeah, there was a thead in GD before I went for a job interview today, about one or two o'clock this afternoon, that said bushco had pulled the 9*11 exploitation ads.

Not sure if that panned out to be true or not.

10. I heard they targeted 17 or 18 states
that were close last time, or are considered tossups.

I think those of us in safe states for either side, will not be deluged the way others will.

Also, they're supposed to be running on sports channels for golf events & Nascar races.

Erie PA CBS affiliate. But I think it is a poor ad. In addition to the guolishness it just plain is a poor ad. It associates Bush with recession and terror. Not what I would like to do if I wanted to get him elected.

15. Worse yet, the "news" shows are running it for free as part of their
"fair and balanced" commentary. Still nowhere near the showing that they gave the Dean "scream" but still a sizeable amount of air time that BushCo doesn't have to put up a dime for.

from the 9/11 families, talking about how he is exploiting the tragedy for political gain.

The fact that they dragged out Karen Hughes today to argue the ads were great, shows there is a problem.

28. Move-On Ad as antidote
We have seen the * ad once this evening (Thursday) on the local ABC affiliate(Philadelphia, PA), but have also seen the Move On '* not on our side' commercial. It is very effective and I'm not sure if the voice over isn't a local guy.
If Move On continues to produce commercials of this quality, with a message as hard hitting and thought provoking to people in the blue collar arena, I have a feeling that we've got a good chance of kicking the thieves out.

31. The RNC knows just what its doing
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 12:37 AM by party_line
and that ad has GOT to be answered.

Bearing in mind that the RNC would have done extensive testing on the expected outrage from the expected factions and already pre-determined any damage, what else do these ads do?

They take everyone right back to that day.

That day, when even I looked to bush to lead. I prayed for him! That day when an overwhelming majority of Americans were scared, pissed, vindictive and ready to take up arms. Remember shortly after when the firefighters booed Gere for suggesting that we not hold all of Islam responsible?

Now, which party does the under-educated public consistently, unfailingly chose as being Strongest On National Security? According to Lindsay at Brookings in October 03, repubs are chosen by a margin of 20-40% over Dems, depending on the poll.

Without blowing this back in their face with the full force of Bush's Responsibility, that's the ball game. The DNC HAS to do this but I have no hope that they will. Already Lieberman is shaking his little fists and whining that bush AND kerry must dial back the partisan rhetoric!

It's easy.

Use the same damn WTC footage as in bush's ad and ask:

"Who was in charge that day? On whose watch did we lose three thousand Americans?"

35. This is Kerry's first chance to show some spine
He needs to tear Bush's head off about this.

He needs to say, "9/11 was the worst tragedy imaginable for thousands of wives, husbands, children, fathers, and siblings. It broke the hearts of Americans and changed our country forever. But it was the best day of George Bush's life."

Kerry needs to have a chart made with that graph showing Bush's approval rating spiking upwards on 9/11, and again at the beginning of the Iraq war.

He needs to use words like despicable, cynical, and calculating. He needs to call this what it is: using the corpses of murdered Americans for Bush's political gain.

And while he's at it, Kerry could mention how anxious Bush is to show us the flag covered corpse of one 9/11 firefighter, but has hidden the 500+ flag-covered coffins of our dead soldiers that he sent to fight a war based on lies.
