Donating to the Bonesman!!! Kerry!!!
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 12:16 AM by WillyBrandt
I donated to Kerry three days ago, and I'm doing it again today. And I recommend that you donate in uber-lib-blogger Atrios's name:

https://contribute.johnkerry.com/index.html?source_code=00014023

My contribution this go around: $25, for a total of $50 for Kerry so far.

(Man, this election has been costing me!)

Anyway, please give, and please go to the Kerry MeetUp this month! We need to fight the sleazeball Bush Ads, and counter the quisling Naderians.

If you give via another group, such as MoveOn, please note that too!

ON EDIT: I gave $50, instead of $25. And I changed the Subject Line :)

1. Just emptied my checking account for Kerry
And I'm not kidding...$500 to Kerry cutting my balance by about 3/4

To all you people who refuse to vote for him, do some researchon what Bush has been doing to this country and think about what he'll do without having to worry about re-election. Maybe I'm wrong and you are right, Kerry is just Bush-lite, but even if he were, Bush-Heavy for another four years could very well put a nail in the coffin of American Liberalism.

25. Thanks
Whether someone loves Kerry or merely hates Bush, your actions are admirable. People like you are why I still have confidence that all of Bush's "Pioneers" won't be able to buy this one. Your money speaks more loudly about passion than does a larger check written by bloodless PACs and corporations.

4. I live in a Blue liberal state. Just Gave $25.00 to Kerry and it
FELT REAL FUCKING GOOD!!!! I have yet to run in to a Nader supporter. I Believe those polls AP etc. are Freeped. They predicted Nader would get 5% in 2000. He got just a pinch over half that, 2.7% so 6% for Nader only amounts to the 7 or 8 AP pollsters who polled themselfs, randomly of course.

11. Thanks, WB, for the gentle push. Just kicked $25 into the Kerry-kitty...
Via your link. It seems that all the well-intentioned talk is so much empty foreplay without putting $$$ on the Democratic barrelhead.

We've *got* to give! :kick:

12. More more he needs more.
You know he needs over $100 million from grassroots supporters such as you, don't you?

And he needs to pay off his $6 million mortgage too.

It's too bad Teresa couldn't use $100 million of her own fortune. She'd still have over $400 million left for goodness sakes. Too bad she insisted on a prenup.

27. she can contribute the same 2000 as the rest of us
or do you think that wealthy people should use their own, fortuitisly-obtained fortunes, to purchase elections? If this money was John Kerry's, and he was spending 100 million dollars, that he got by marrying a wealthy woman (good for him, I say) who had simply inherited that money, you would support this? If say, Bush's father wrote his son a 25 million dollar check to support his reelction bid, you'd have no problem with that? Campaigns in this country are financed by donations from people who believe in them, that's the way it is.

By the way, did Denis Kucinich sell his house to finance his campaign? go into personal debt to do so? how about Dr. Dean? John Edwards?

15. Why the hell are you posting this?
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 08:18 AM by WillyBrandt
This is a thread for those donating to Kerry.

Nobody's interested in a post repeating for the--what?--500th time that you aren't going to donate to Kerry. It's not a mantra; it needn't be chanted over and over.

Do you go to basketball games and say: "I will watch the New Jersey Nets, and I hope they will win. But I will NOT cheer for them. Not one whoomp, not one clap, never. Nothing but my sympathies"?

You're not donating to Kerry? Fine. Let the rest of us organize and work for progressive change in the executive without a proudly obnoxious interruption.

21. Poor analogy
Basketball games and internet message boards are two divergent things.

I expressed my opinion on the subject as is the wont of posters on message boards.

Perhaps you really need that tax cut for the wealthy or something? I don't know?

Walt, you post the same thing on each comment about giving Kerry money. I am not shouting you down or saying you don't have the right to say it, it just seems repetitive.

20. $50 so far
I gave $25 after the Clark endorsement and another $25 went yesterday. I'm signed up for an automatic $25 a month.

I also log contributions at:

http://www.wesclarkdemocrats.com/

(which, unfortunately, is under a DOS attack this morning)

Good work, Willy. Wes is out fundraising for Kerry, too. He's giving the keynote speech tonight as Kerry's surrogate at a Kansas Dem dinner. So you're in good company. :)
