Why don't polls list MORE than 3 parties?
Why don't they ever ask would you vote for Kerry, the democratic, Bush, the republican, Nader the independent, or ?, the libertarian, socialist, etc etc candidate?

They did the same thing with Buchanan. Technically, he should have been included in all polls as well...

1. I think they usually include an "other" option

There are many many minor parties. It would be silly to include them all in every poll.

On edit: there are well over 50 registered parties in the US.

2. True, there are many...
and it wouldn't be practical to list them all, but I find it amusing that they list Bush, Kerry, and Nader. The libertarian candidate didn't do that much worse than Nader in '00.

I just think this is more evidence that polling firms and the media are whoring for Bush. We're fighting against them and everyone else (including the few Naderites that remain even today).

3. The libertarian candidate
got about 13% of Ralph Nader's votes. Nader got 2.74%. Browne, the Libertarian, got .36%. Pat Buchanan got .42%

Nader was the only third-party candidate to break 1%

4. they will
They don't usually list al the parties until the big election in November. You usually have to be registered with a party then vote for that parties canidate in the primaries. Then in the General election you can vote for Mickey Mouse if you want.
