What If The Republican National Committe Funds The Nader Campaign
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 07:03 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
And More Specifically His Ballot Access Drive?

I'm thinking of how California multi-millionaire, Darrel Issa, funded the Grey Davis recall referendum....

Could it be that Karl Rove and Ralph Nader are already in cahoots?

1. Hmmm
If I'm a clever Republican I would try to get disaffected leftists to vote for Nader because I know they will never vote for Bush but I will be depriving the Democratic nominee of a potential vote...

Something smells....

11. If you find that link, send it my way...
I have been saying all along that the only reason Nader would run this time is to purposely fuck the Democrats and even his own supporters over. It's like he's sold his soul to evil...

3. His Ballot Access Drive
Duh. Where do you think Ralph got all that TV ad money last time. Most greens don't have jobs, so it didn't come from them.

5. Well, if they aren't partners
they should be! But I wouldn't be shocked if Nader was getting funding and/or help from GOP movers and shakers. Even if it is without his knowledge.

6. Wouldn't that get out before the election?
Personally, I don't think Nader is a factor this time. I voted for him in 2000, but there's no way I'm voting for him this time. The stakes are too high. Most people realize this. The ones who don't would be likely to vote third party anyway.

8. I agree that Nader won't be a factor
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 07:15 AM by quinnox
I know there was some poll put out that showed Nader getting a higher percentage but I don't put much faith in polls this far out.

I think Nader will get even less this time, maybe 2% or so.

And I might be overlly optimistic, but I think Kerry will beat Bush handily anyway so it won't be as critical like in 2000.

This election will be tough...

A replay of 2000.....

The Red State Blue State Dichotomy...

I think we can hold all the blue states and possibly win West Virginia (and or) New Hampshire, Arizona, and Ohio....

I think the south is lost... I am concerned about the down ticket....

Go Dems...

10. I don't know if they're in cahoots, but...
Nader is the best weapon Rove has and he certainly knows it. They'll be using every loophole and quasi-legal method at their disposal to get money to the Nader campaign. Nader is such a tool! I took one of those quizes last night:

http://news.mpr.org/collections/special/2004/campaign/selectacandidate/selectapres.shtml

Came out with Nader on top. Interestingly, Kerry was next. However, my feeling is that Nader doesn't count, because he's demonstrated that whatever he says, he no longer cares about moving toward the goals he professes and is content to help the country to move in the opposite direction as long as he's a big deal.

12. It would be worth spending some funds to investigate --
As other posters on this thread have said, the Republicans (probably not through the RNC itself) will try every way they can to fund Nader, and if they are successful, this should be exposed. If not "in cahoots," Rove and Nader are working toward exactly the same goal: four more years of Bush in our White House.

Curiously enough, when the Republicans used Sharpton to attack Dean
(via the clearly-Republican campaign staffers that Al used), only
the Dean supporters here seemed to think it was a big deal.

A lot of other folks celebrated anything that would bring down
the Doctor, even if it was, essentially, Republican dirty tricks.

So I guess I'll have to see it as hypocrisy if the principle is
suddenly altered for things that bring down Kerry.

We won't be punishing Kerry we'll be punishing the republic by reelecting Chimpy...

Hell, we'll be punishing the whole world....
