Will the Giants parade affect Obama?
I know that NY will be won by Hillary Clinton, but at this point Obama wants to keep the delegate difference as short as possible in places where he is supposed to lose. I assume that most parade goers will be young, and white males. Many black males will also attend the parade.
Hispanic youth likes football, but not as much as white and black fans.

Could this mean more delegates for Clinton than she would otherwise get with no parade?

5. Well ALL the youth who listen to Tri-state radios are told to VOTE & go to the Parade.
The parade only last for a short time early in the day. Those people who go to the parade have until 9pm to go vote. I don't think it will have any effect.

7. Since he supported the Patriots it seems just fair
:grr:

But many vote in the evening and the parade, I assume, will be during the day?

10. Yeah and he said that at the NJ rally today. But that he ultimately
supported the Bears. Many people at the rally wore Big Blue outfits. Many sane people know that sports has nothing to do with politics. So I don't think him supporting the Pats will effect anything.Big blue fans just chuckled and said maybe next year. It was very sweet.

11. Since Obama's supporters are more passionate than Hillary's, they are more ....
likely to vote and skip the "celebration" than Hillary's supporters.

Hillary's support is soft... and those people are more likely to say "f*** it... I won't bother voting. Hillary's got our state wrapped up anyway."

You have it exactly ass-backward... and you have no clue about retail politics.

14. Why are people so hung up about this?
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 10:13 AM by Bleachers7
The parade will last a couple hours. It's limited to downtown Manhattan. People that want to vote will vote. Some of them will vote drunk. Overall, if it hurts anyone, it will probably hurt Hillary more because a lot of these people are her voters.

16. I think the parade was around 11?
No different from work. I voted before work. If a person really wants to vote they will go before, or go to the parade and go after. It's also impossible to tell how many Giants fans are Clinton supporters or Obama supporters so I would say mostly this is a non issue. The people who go party and get drunk are probably the same people that can't be counted on to vote anyway.
