Obama did very well. He and his supporters should feel proud
Obviously Obama could have done better getting one of the "biggie" states like CA, NY, or NJ but he's done really well. For an unknown (comparatively) Senator from Illinois with a funny name who weeks ago was written off to be able to tie Hillary is a big deal.

The states that Obama picked up where also very exciting. Thankfully we can put to bed this notion that only blacks or young kids are voting Obama etc etc. States like Kansas, Missouri, Connecticut, Utah, etc going to Obama says a lot about his unifying campaign and the country.

A lot of good stuff out there. We still have a lot of work to do. Hillary also did well so we need to make sure the next batch of primaries are divisively Obama'd. This is a very interesting race.

5. It wasn't supposed to be close? Remember New Hampshire Eve when y'all were slicing Hillary apart
and gambling on who would be the first in her campaign to have their heads chopped off by her.

Now you say what?

2. He may not have gotten a biggie state but his 1.2 million in Illinois
was larger than Hillary's 1.0 million in NY

3. I am proud. I'm disappointed about NJ and CA, but I never really felt
in my heart that he had those in the bag.

6. But CA was only due to early voting
Don't be fooled by the size of Hillary's victory there--it based mainly on the huge advantage with early voters who voted when Hillary had a 20 point lead in CA. It doesn't reflect where Obama stands today. It's sort of like looking at polls that are two weeks old instead of current ones.

4. I'm very interested in what role early voting played in handing the "big" states ...
... to Clinton. Did the big states allow earlier early/absentee voting? Did they have a higher percentage of early voting?

I'm very interested to see how election day voting played-out.

7. That played a HUGE role in CA
Almost all of Hillary's lead in CA came from early voting.

8. Right. This, of course, doesn't mean that *any* early Clinton voters ...
.... would now have preferred to vote for Obama, but one wonders.

9. I think he did great! He's well within range to win.
Considering the well-oiled, political machine he's up against - and virtually running against 2 people - he did amazingly well.
