2. from their site:
Obama for America

to Barack Obama
Barack Obama won the endorsement of 70% of MoveOn members and the race for the Democratic nomination remains close. Clinton and Obama are likely to continue their struggle at least for another month, with critical primaries coming up in seven states in the next week. Obama says, "I'm asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington...I'm asking you to believe in yours." Can you chip in? ($2300 limit, FEC ID# C00431445)

3. Can someone explain to me
how it is legal for a 527 to endorse a candidate? I am sure that their lawyers found a legal way to do it. I am just interested in the details.

6. Are they a 501C3 or 501C4.. federally? It makes the diff. I'm assuming
since they work to endorse candidates, they are not a charitable non-profit org..

5. Hey, did Obama make a deal with Moveon before the Patraeus ad vote??
I'm wondering....he conveniently missed it....then they endorsed him. Was a deal made so that Obama could avoid committing himself while Hillary voted to defend Moveon's right to that ad??

It wouldn't surprise me at all...

7. MoveOn.org decided to endorse Sen. Obama
based on the results of a poll in which about 6% of MoveOn's total membership of 3.3 million people participated in.

How's that for Democracy in action?

10. You think more time would have made a difference? MoveOn is anti-war. Hillary isn't.
And she lost by two to one.

15. I know a fix when I see it.
The endorsement required a super majority. There was no time for debate- just an immediate up or down vote. They got it. They lost me and a few others. I'm sure they're happy now.

11. I wonder if MoveOn.org gets a hit each time someone donates to BO thru their site? Radio...
is doing this with Amazon. If you visit Amazon thru the the site (I thought it was NPR), the station gets a hit .

Kind of like Virgin Mobile phones - when you view advertising on their website you get free minutes and Virgin Mobile gets a hit.

17. None Of Obama's $7 Million Came From MoveOn
None Of Obama's $7 Million Came From MoveOn
By Greg Sargent - February 7, 2008, 11:33AM

A spokesperson for MoveOn, which is backing Obama, just confirmed to me that none of the more than $7 million that the Obama campaign has raised since Super Tuesday came from the group's fundraising efforts.

"The numbers announced by the Obama campaign don't include any fundraising MoveOn has done on their behalf," MoveOn communications director Ilyse Hogue says.

This appears to put a crimp in the Hillary campaign's argument -- in terms of this $7 million, at least -- that their lag in fundraising is partly due to the fact that they're not just up against the Obama camp, but MoveOn as well.

MoveOn is in fact in the midst of a fundraising drive for Obama, and the group tells me that they'll be releasing the totals raised for him this afternoon -- which means still more money flowing Obama's way today. So in the broader sense, Camp Hillary is right -- they are up against Obama and MoveOn, but given that these numbers are broken out separately, it's hard to see how this can be used to explain away her lower numbers.
