If you accept the reported figures, then Hillary does need more money in order to remain competitive with Obama, whether or not some of her staff give up their pay for a month or not.

Candidate supporters only give money to candidates they support. Obama could be desperate for money, and his campaign is still not where I would send any right now. Clinton's campaign obviously needs to kick up fund raising a notch to compete over the next six weeks with Obama.

Meanwhile, Obama supporters, knowing that Obama does not "need" more money, are cheering each other on to give Obama more money. Do friends let friends give hard earned money to someone who doesn't "need" it?

This whole supposed controversy is stupid. Both campaigns want more money and it is clear that Clinton raised a lot less of it in January than did Obama. Obviously the people who are donating money to both campaigns are doing so voluntarily believing that by giving the candidate they support more cash, there is a better chance that they will win.
