David Shuster, Keith Olbermann. The only two on TV who speak the truth - Being vilified on DU
Unbelievable. I never thought I'd see the day. Never.

All because the Hillary Clinton supporters can't handle the truth.

Tell you what. Fire Shuster and cancel Olbermann. Let O'Reilly and Hannity and Cavuto and Scarborough and Matthews have all the viewers. Who needs real journalists speaking truth to power when they don't repeat your candidate's spin?

Shame on Clinton for capitalizing on Shuster's slip of the tongue. Make no mistake, that's all it was. A slip of the tongue that happens to the best of us. I seriously doubt he meant to call Chelsea Clinton a prostitute.

But hey, as long as it helps the DLC establishment corporate candidate retain power. Because that's what this is all about.

All of a sudden, people (Clinton supporters) are not liking Mr. Olbermann. The posts are there, but I can't link to them because that would be a call out.

2. It was absolutely necessary for Schuster to apologize, even twice.
But suspension is harsh, I think.

And honestly, any Democrat that remembers his excellent, thorough (and LONE) coverage of Valerie Plame/Scooter Libby should mourn the temporary loss of David Schuster. I'm going to miss watching him beat up on that insufferable jackass Joe Scarborough every morning. :-(

13. No he didn't, but I'm not talking about that anyway
I'm talking about the fact that people here have no problem with his suspension, even though has has been among the very few people on television to actually report the truth.

And there are people against Olbermann, as well.

I'm actually a little surprised that you, OPERATIONMINDCRIME, think he crossed a line. Normally you give these types of slip of the tongue incidents the benefit of the doubt.

Of course, I'm well aware that you're a partisan Clinton supporter.

24. He Absolutely Crossed A Line. A Suspension May Be A Bit Rough, But He Still Crossed A Line.
And though you pretend to be aware of a lot of things, you most often are found to in fact be ignorant of those things.

For example, I have made it more than clear that I support both Hillary and Obama, though I pick Hillary over him. I have made it clear that I'm proud of them both and think they'd both be great. So to call me a partisan Clinton supporter just shows how narrow minded and misguided you are.

16. Hillary supporters remind me a lot of Bush supporters. It's a very curious thing.
Before the primaries started, these MSNBC guys were the only example of balance we had on cable news. Now that they are criticizing Hillary, her supporters turn into attack dogs. Was Shuster wrong? Yes, he shouldn't have said what he did. He certainly doesn't deserve to be fired however; he's one of the best reporters out there.

17. I would defend Shuster's comment if, say, Chelsea Clinton were an actual prostitute.
Or let's say her mother fitted her out with spinner hub caps and a pair of fuzzy dice hanging off her nose.
What Chelsea was doing is called "campaigning" when the Romney boys do it. So how is it "pimping" when a Clinton girl does it?

I won't hold him to a lesser standard. He needs to be beat up for a couple of days over this. If he's a good journalist, the storm will die out soon enough.

22. Slip of the tongue?
What then was he trying to say? Was he trying to say "primping"? "Pampering" maybe? Maybe he just meant to say she's 'using' her daughter. The whole idea behind the question is irrelevant, not productive, and designed to be negative. Why did he feel he had to go down that path anyway? I'm not a big Hillary fan, but I don't blame her for saying "enough".

But I also haven't liked what people have had to say about Keith around here merely because he disagrees with them on the candidate. Disagreeing with him doesn't mean he's smearing Clinton, or jumped the shark, or that he should shut up.

I also can't see him having such a poor choice of words as Shuster.

Because this is about one of the very few actual journalists on television being taken off the air. And DUers who are so blinded by their Clinton partisanship eat it right up.

63. Keith Olbermann just apologized
for Schuster about the pimping comment. Schuster has been suspended.

Schuster did a stupid thing and MSNBC recognizes his comment was way out of line.

That's all well and good but MSNBC and CNN have created the atmosphere of "anything goes" where the Clintons are concerned. The MSM have been tripping over each other in their eagerness to bash Hillary or Bill---now it's Chelsea.

Schuster is a prick. When he called Hillary's laugh a "cackle" that made me burn too but there was no retraction and he never apologized---'cause that was the "talking point" for the day.

Anything goes where the Clintons are concerned. If Hillary is criticized for her policies, the IWR or anything else, it's a legitimate criticism. I don't agree with beating the IWR horse to death because I'm not a one-issue voter. I look at the whole person.

Making fun of somebody's laugh or the way they look, etc. goes beyond the pale and using the word "pimp" associated with Chelsea is unforgivable.

I'm sure Schuster won't be fired for this---but I wish he was.
