Why did so many assholes just abandoned Howard Dean
Edited on Tue Mar-09-04 05:24 PM by Zinfandel
Mike Malloy is asking...

I call them fucking moderates...the assholes, just sitting on the fence waiting to see which way the wind blows, moderates, next time they might vote republican "if he's the better candidate" stupid fucks...they have absolutely no ideology and don't even understand what it is to have ideology.

Malloy is asking on his (Wednesday, February 18th, 2004) show (great, great show) and it's even more relevant today, as all these Kerry supporters come out of the woodwork as if they've been there from the git-go...the same stupid fucking moderates.

http://homepage.mac.com/benburch/WRIndex1.html#MALLOY

(and still it's great to hear Mike's sanity, when it comes to the fascist insanity all over the media airwaves everyday)

The fire that has Malloy going right now...Howard Dean just dropped out the presidential race...Malloy's asking why Howard Dean didn't win a single primary and how pissed off and sick he is, that people just abandoned Dean...

2. I'm an asshole, but I didn't abandon Dean
He still got my vote in the Ohio primary.

However, supporting Kerry now is not what makes me an asshole, thanks. :eyes:

3. I hear ya! that's the way I feel
I've been supporting Dean for well over a year. Pisses me off that everybody bailed on him overnight. It's the medias and Gephard's fault. I'm ABB but I'm not a big Kerry fan.

18. And just how the hell is it Gephardt's fault?
And not everything is the fault of the big, bad media. Dean destroyed himself, he did it to himself, and it's 90 percent HIS fault, no one else's!!!!!!!!!! But of course, St. Dean can't do anything wrong now, can he?

23. Gephard starting slinging mud in Iowa
Edited on Tue Mar-09-04 05:45 PM by bif
And Dean fought back. That turned off the voters in the state who haate negativ3e politics so they turned to the safe choice in Kerry. Then, after the dust cleared, Gephard dropped out. And the media had to play Dean's scream about 2 million times a day. So they're partially responsible as well.

26. Dean started slinging mud on Jan 23, 2003.
He ramped it up while Kerry was dealing with his cancer surgery and recovery.

He was applauded.

7. If being a Kerry supporter makes you an asshole, sign me up!
Kerry was not my first choice, but once it became obvious he was the nominee, I was happy to jump on board. I'm not ashamed of it, I'm proud of it.

We need Bush gone and Kerry is our best chance!

21. Actually, Kerry's voting record
is WAAAAYYY more liberal than Dean, who was a centrist DLC leader. Kerry's proven his liberal credentials, and I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't call us "fucking dumb."

Maybe we feel that way about Dean supporters who refuse to see who he really is and who keep blaming us and the big, bad media for something Dean himself is responsible for.

I will not apologize for not supporting Dean, and I'm tired of being made to feel as if I should. He was not who he made himself out to be and Bush would have destroyed him.

..unless, of course, you have a different definition.

Is Dean a liberal?

I don't know if we should assume that those who abandoned him are moderates.

I generally like Mike Malloy though.

When Howard suspended his campaign, I wanted to be involved in a VIABLE campaign, so I switched to Edwards. You got a problem with that?

11. Dean destroyed himself, and I'm sick
of hearing about how "wronged" he was. He did it to himself, and his advisors admit that.

He didn't listen to his advisors or follow their advice (and most of them were seasoned campaigners on the national level, which he wasn't), there was no coordination among his advisors, he refused to prep for or be coached for debates, his campaign mismanaged its finances, he couldn't seem to grasp that this was a national campaign and not just another Vermont gubernatorial election, he was often quick-tempered and evasive, even in interviews.

And he was NOT NOT NOT the "populist liberal" people here love to paint him out to be, he was a centrist DLC leader before getting into the race. He would have been blown away by Bush in the election. By the time of the primaries, people were beginning to see all of this and voted accordingly.

And I'm fucking sick to death of being lambasted for not worshipping at the altar of Howard Dean and for supporting another candidate, and so are a lot of other people. Dean destroyed himself, and that's all there is to it. Dean blew it, GET OVER IT!

15. So just exactly
what are people who supported candidates who dropped out of the race supposed to do? Kerry wasn't my first choice either, but I want to be involved in the process so I am supporting him, volunteering for him and will send him some money.

17. I supported Dean at first....but then
I read Four Trials and was left too impressed with John Edwards.

I went to one of Dean's rallies here in Houston and was fairly impressed....but then over Christmas I started giving all of the other candidates a fair shot.

I think that Dean is a great leader, and that he energized the party and set the stage in a way that none of the other candidates can claim.

27. Did he go off on the assholes who assassinated Dean?
Assholes with the intials JK,DG, and RT, for example? Or the media assholes playing a 2 second scream 8,675,309 times? Or the DLC/DNC assholes who spread the "unelectable" LIE? Not that the bandwagoning moderate assholes are blameless either.

Admittedly, I've never listened to Malloy. Just wondering if he understands which assholes to blame.
