The volunteers are still working at qualifying the provisional ballots. There were 17,000 provisional ballots cast and of those, according to Kate Nash, 8000 have been qualified and will be counted.
The votes are being qualified and will be counted by volunteers. If you are interested in helping out, you can see the details on how to help out over at Democracy for New Mexico. The volunteers are doing the work at the REDW building in Albuquerque at 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Also, updated voter totals, which includes absentee and regular ballots, Hillary Clinton leads 68,084 votes to Barack Obama's 67,010. This makes a lead of 1,074 votes for Clinton, with at least 8,000 provisional ballots yet to be counted. There could be more.
Clinton still holds a 1,000 vote advantage, and it looks like she should be able to hold on to the lead, unless provisional ballots go to Obama at a very, very high rate. Obama would need upwards of 60 percent of the vote in order to win the one delegate still up for grabs here in New Mexico.
The deadline for counting the votes is Friday at 5:00 pm local time.
