Howard Stern to consider asking listeners to donate to Kerry!
From a Stern fan site: http://www.marksfriggin.com/news.htm#fri

Howard Breaks His Silence. 03/12/04. 7:10am

-snip-
A caller told Howard that John Kerry needs money to campaign against Bush. He can't compete with a guy who has $200 million in the bank. He suggested going to JohnKerry.com and give a few bucks to help the guy out. Howard said that might be a good idea. Howard also said that he has links to a bunch of articles on his web site HowardStern.com . He had to take a commercial break after that.
-snip-

Hopefully Stern will go ahead and encourage listeners to donate to Kerry. That would absolutely be huge! I do think Kerry needs to keep Stern at arms length, but there should be some behind the scenes outreach!

3. I'm glad that Howard
has finally turned away from the dark side. I can't stomach watching or listening to him, but apparently he was quite a shill for the Bush regime for a long time.

4. Never was a shill
. . .he just gave them a chance. He voted for Clinton twice and Gore. After 9/11 he felt it was important to get behind the president (which I am sure many non-partisans did). He has always been pissed at Bush about stem cell research, he has always said Bush did not win and his angry about the Bush wanting an amendment to ban gay marriage.

8. My mistake, sorry.
I don't listen to him enough to know, just going by what I've seen here. I realize this isn't always the most accurate source of information.:)

5. I agree with:
"I can't stomach watching or listening to him"

But this could be a good thing if he gets people to donate and interested in politics.

It amazes me that certain people are blessed to have a shot in showbiz and they decide to waste it on teash and filth like Stern and Springer. At least do something good with your fame and fortune.

6. Howard Stern's show is 4-5 hours per day.
Howard Stern's show is 4-5 hours per day.

How many people can be entertaining for that long, no matter what?

Saying that Howard Stern should be able to it without having strippers on his show, or talking about the topics you don't like him talking about, is asking a bit much.

7. I'm not asking him to stop
the premise of his show is all about trash and he does a good job doing it, sometimes it even makes me laugh. My whole point is that when people "make it" in the biz, I think they should do something more productive then sleaze. But people watch and listen to his show and he makes mad dough so he's doing something right.

BTW, I love porn but that's "acting"

11. No fan of Howard...
but I appreciate all the help we can get. Howard Stern has influence. He's got many apolotical people thinking about this administration.

I have a friend -- in his twenties, not very political, what some might call "white trash" (though he's very tolerant), not at all religious, mostly interested in getting into girls' pants, but I heard the other day from another friend that even he's getting registered to vote. I also think he's mentioned that he listens to Stern.

Many males listen to Stern, whether we like Stern or not (I kinda find the show sort of stupid myself), and he gets them to think a little differently. While he may be sexist (I really don't know because I've never really heard his show, but I'd say he probably is because each time I flip by the channel there is some stripper), he has also been more tolerant regarding gay and lesbian rights than say, Limbaugh, and considering he has more influence, I'd say it's good to have anyone practically campaigning against Bush.

14. His TV show is misrepresentative of his radio show.
People have the complete wrong impression of his radio show because on E! they show usually only the most racy portions of his radio show. Howard will have nakedness or really adult sexual content on his show maybe a maximum of an hour a week combined, out of 20 hours a week. His radio show is mainly just discussion and opinion and comedy and games. The greatest part of his show is him just playing clips of people or things that he goofs on. That stuff never gets shown on TV

13. I think your wrong. Kerry owes Howard his respect
Howard has 17 million loyal listeners and OUR PARTY just completely caved into the right wing with the pathetic 21, that's right 21,
"no"-votes in the house on a bill to force Howard off the air.

And now the senate is likely to do the same. People who are afraid of Howard Stern are idiots, plain and simple. And people who believe that he doesn't have the right to stay on the air are unconstitutional idiots. Fuck them. Our party completely blew a chance to stand up for what's right. And people like Ed Markey, who I used to respect, are partners in the castration of the first amendment that has and is taking place.
