Am I the only one who thinks the Kerry/McCain crap...
is like the Freepers claiming Hillary was going to jump into the race and now that she'll find some way to steal the nomination before the convention?

It's an almost completely baseless rumor that everyone involved is denying, but for some reason people need to keep it alive.

4. I don't think anyone ever took it seriously.
It was just a way for McCain to poke Bush in the eye and I loved it.

9. I agree!
Instead of getting mad about it, enjoy it!

Just the fact that McCain is being discussed tells everyone that he really really likes Kerry.

It's not going to happen; it's a media creation.

The nominee has been decided, & the press is bored.

6. McCain is anti-abortion.
Also, he's a Republican. It's the only thing they could think of that would keep Democrats away from the polls so they're trying it.

8. Kerry/McCain is about as likely as
Kerry/Lott or Bush/Kucinich. Its a waste of newsprint, television time, and file space.

10. I think it's good to float this
Makes Kerry look like a bipartisan, reasonable kinda guy to the moderates out there. And hey, McCain is popular. Maybe not here, but he is. Doesn't hurt to have Kerry's name mentioned often with his out in Middle America.

11. not quite

It seems to be a deliberate ploy by both parties to it to rile Bush and toy with the moderate voters. Rove tried to ignore it, of course, but it certainly gave Arizona voters something to consider.

13. Well...
A pretty high-up Kerry campaign fellow in Arizona told me last July that they were definitely kicking the idea around. So it's not just a 'claim' out of the netherworld.

14. Nope.
McCain's a loyal Republican, and as conservative as they come, to boot.

Even if he thinks Shrub's a schmuck, this too shall pass, ans I can't imagine him jumping parties this late inthe game.
