Is Kerry putting together a Dream Team?
Edited on Sat Mar-13-04 04:00 PM by DoYouEverWonder
Kerry met with Edwards and Dean this week. Clark is already out campaigning for Kerry. I wouldn't be surprised if their cooking up something unexpected?

All of the candidates that ran in the primaries were great. Kucinich said that while the candidates were traveling together so much they really got to know each other. One of the things they promised each other was that whoever won the nomination, all the other candidates would fully support the nominee.

So imagine if they took this one step further and became one big team. It would be like a runaway freight train and Bu$h would have to come up with an excuse to implement Marshall Law in order to stop it from running him out of DC. I can't wait to see what Kerry does next, so far so good.

1. I read where Kucinich is hooking up w/ Dean on the "new" organization
Will try to find link where I read this.

Democracy, Freedom, and Action
The following is excerpted from Governor Howard Dean's remarks in New Haven, CT:

"On March 18, I will announce our plans to build a new organization, using our nationwide grassroots network, to continue our work to transform the Democratic Party and to change America.

"We are determined to keep this organization as vibrant as it was throughout our campaign.

"There are a lot of ways to make change. We are leaving one track, but we are going on another track that will take back America for ordinary people again.

"Democracy, Freedom, and Action will be the watchwords of this new effort.

2. I've gotten a couple of e-mails from Dean saying nice things about Kerry.
Has Dennis dropped out? I don't think he would support another cadidate if he was still running himself. Is Al still running? I have not kept up with the news lately.

3. Dennis said he will stay in until the convention
at which time he will back Kerry. At least, that's what he said last week when I saw him in Gainesville, FL.

Al is still running and he's a bit of a wild card. Who knows what he'll do from here? But I would think that if the next President went to him and said I'd like you to be on my team, he'd be a fool to say no.

7. How about Sharpton as Press Secretary?
That would make everyone pay more attention and I think the media would love it. Look at all the humorous quotes they could run away with...they aren't interest in the news anyway. They just want an interesting story and Sharpton could give it to them.

4. Yeah - I think so
The only way to beat the Republicans is by putting together a united front and some of us - all of us - are so attached to our original candidate that it will be difficult to vote for Kerry, unless he was our orignial candidate.
I have said I think Clark should be VP or Sec. of State - Kerry could run like Bush 43 did with Powell - with everyone knowing he'd be Sec. of State, for example. If all of us were ensured our favorites would be in the cabinet, wouldn't that make it easier for us to unite and vote for Kerry?
I know I'll have a hard time voting for Kerry - I'll have to use these:

5. Is there a reason Clark should not be secretary of defense?

9. I don't know that we can assume that just because he is
meeting with people. He's trying to shore up support and advice.

While it would be lovely to see all of our heroes wrapped up in one nice package, it seldom really works that way.

Nice thought though!

10. When was the last time
the Democratic party had so many heros?

I think it's time to throw out old assumptions. I hope the Dems go against conventional wisdom and do the unexpected. It's time to do things differently.
