Republicans poke fun at Kerry's French connection
Sacre bleu! U.S. Republicans have come up with a novel line of attack against Democrat John Kerry -- he speaks French. Worse yet, he has family in France.

In response to Kerry's recent boast that foreign leaders hope he defeats George W. Bush, the president's supporters have seized on the Democratic candidate's French connections to portray him as elitist and out of touch with American voters. "Former French Environment Minister Is Kerry's First Cousin," blared a headline on the Republican National Committee's website.

<snip>

Tom DeLay, the majority leader in the House of Representatives, opened a speech last year to college Republicans by mocking Kerry's fluency in French. "Good afternoon, or, as John Kerry might say, 'Bonjour,' " DeLay said. An anonymous White House aide recently told the New York Times that Kerry "looks French" -- a description the Bush official clearly did not intend as flattery.

Christopher Sands, a senior associate at the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies, said the Republicans are tapping into lingering anger among U.S. voters over France's decision to oppose the war in Iraq. Calling Kerry "French" is an easy way to define him as soft on national defense and more concerned with world opinion than U.S. interests, says Sands.

2. And desperate!
Everything they come up with just sounds like they are very desperate. They know the chimp is a fraud, and the only thing he has to run on is a horrible terrorist attack that happened on his watch.

How do you like your toast, smirky?

5. Remember when we were little kids...
and hearing someone speak another language sounded funny, and we were so unaware that there were actually other languages in the world that we maybe even made fun of it. I'm talking about when we were really little and our worlds were as big as we could see from the kiddy seat on our mom's bike. Well, that's the mindset of these fuckers. It's like schoolyard bullies picking on the nerds for being smarter. It's so goddam embarrassing! They're so unaware that most of the world's greatest philosophers throughout history did their best thinking in France. Hell, the president has trouble speaking fucking English! It's not even a secret! This is the best they've got?! We need to start running ads exposing the actual stupidity of the president. Never mind all of his fuck ups in foreign and domestic and fiscal policy. We all know that stuff, and that's typical presidential race politics any way. Let's do something new. Let's just expose the actual lack of intelligence of the man that runs the country. I think if people see him for the actual spoiled brat braindead idiot that he is and put the politics aside, people might actually be swayed and realize that this man doesn't have the mental capacity to do anything, never mind the most important job in the world.

10. Anyone with half a brain
And any little bit of curiosity about the world would find the "French connection" interesting. Not important, but interesting.

These backwards jingoistic yahoo's think it's a slur. They are still trying to play up the idea that the French are our enemies, because they didn't want to go and fight and die in our New Vietnam. Crazy frogs!

6. They are really playing this up
Like this website showing how low they can go with the "French" comments. This website calls for John Kerry to be the President of France.

http://www.geocities.com/wallacejohnus/

Here is a quote off of this "website"

"Cheese eating surrender monkeys, French appeasement dorks. France sucks, Boycott France. I hate the French, you hate the French, we all hate the French. Napoleon was an asshole, snails are to be stepped on -- not eaten, berets are for fairies, Jerry Lewis is NOT a genius, mime is unbelievably stupid. Chirac is Saddam's bitch. The only battle the French navy ever won was against Greenpeace."

14. I signed up for French classes last week
just to annoy Republicans, and to make it easier to get a job overseas if B* wins in November.
