New Spanish leader José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero "I want Kerry to win"
Edited on Mon Mar-15-04 03:47 PM by PA-DEM
Now the media and Colin Powell can shut the F up.

The Spanish opposition leader in the general election this Sunday, the socialist José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, said yesterday: "I think Kerry will win. I want Kerry to win."

1. Last Tuesday - before the attacks, way before elections
Not likely to be repeated by Zapatero. But it's still a ringing endorsement I wholeheartedly concur with! :D

2. That just gives ....
the right the ability to say see "Kerry is (ans is supported by) socialists".

I'm not convinced this is a great thing. What needs to happen, is all the countrys of the unwilling (ie didn't go along with AWOLs war), ned to step up and create a coalition against AWOL, by saying they suppoty Kerry.

Cheers
Drifter

5. True
But no matter who would step forward they would find something nasty to say about that leader. That is why Kerry should just tell them to go fly a kite like he did when they wanted an apology for telling the truth about there crooked and lying way's.

8. Problems For The Leaders If Bush Wins
So few are willing to put themselves on a limb when their national economy is on the line - Bush has already shown that he is willing to economically punish any resistance.

But this is great news that whacks the hanging curve the GOP threw out yesterday and today. This is going to make it into the national press easily and make Bush seem even more of an ass.

9. foreign leaders silence about * is deafening
It's not as if anyone's been rallying to *'s defense of late... most would fear doing so at least in countries with elections fearing the wrath of their people.

21. you can't blame them
the bush administration has been more than willing to punish whole nations when they've felt slighted by their leaders. these guys don't know who will win in november, and they don't know if stating a preference would even *help* the guy they want to help. all they know is that they will have to work with the winner, and if that winner happens to be bush... it will be tough for the naysayers to get any favors.

10. This is awesome!
Great news! Now the idiots on the right can finally shut their damn cakeholes. One question--did Kerry know about this "endorsement" before he made the comment about world leaders wanting him to win? Because if not, it just makes it all that much sweeter.

16. Eritreans for Bush? Damn!
What could we do to break Bush's lock on the support of Eritrea? In a close election, the support of global powerhouse like Eritrea could make the difference!

23. That was all straight from the article in the original post!
Sorry I forgot to cite it. Spain is for Kerry.

I think that since Pakistan loves Bush so much, he should visit and see how long he stays alive.

I'm sure the people of the Bush countries don't support him, its just the governments. Some eastern European countries such as Poland support Bush because he makes them feel important by asking them to send their sons to die in Iraq.

27. Yes
The initial reports on this came out in English on NewsMax, but it was reported in Spanish and Swedish Language papers yesterday.

Of course this is being spun as doing what Al Qaeda wants, but the E.U.'s investigation seem to be favoring the idea that attacking Iraq wasted valuable time and resources that would have been better spent trying top cature Osama bin Laden and the other leaders of Al Qaeda, as well as to try to track down and capture groups lionked to Al Qaeda in Europe and the U.S.

Since no links between Saddam and Al Qaeda have been found, and since there were not WMDs for Sadda to give to AL Qaeda, or any economic or other support given by Saddam to AL Qaeda, the war with Iraq is now being viewed in most European capitals and in Brussels as being totally having no effect or relation to Islamic Terrorism. particularly because until the coalition of the willing went to war with Iraq, one of the goals of AL Qaeda was to remove Saddams secular government and replace it with an Islamic Republic.

It might be reasonably argued that George Bush and the coaltion of the willing assisted Al Qaeda reach oone of its own goals, making it easier for them to try to set up an Islamic State in Iraq by destabilizing the area as soon as the U.S. turns over control to the Iraqi's.
