We traveled south in a rental car with XM radio over the week-end. Returned home today. We tuned in to Rush's show just to hear what he was saying about recent developments in Spain. Well, we knew what it would be and he didn't disappoint. But there were a few things he said (and no doubt Hannity will continue with the line) that really made me angry and I think that the Kerry campaign should call him out as a Republican attack dog. Rush claimed that Dems were really happy about the bombing in Spain...that it was a victory for Dems and al-qaeda. He inferred that the "liberals" the Kerry supporters, the Dems were really taking glad that this all happened and that the socialists had won in Spain. (now for the exact words which were even more inflammatory, check out his broadcast for yourself.) My point here is that such comments by right-wing radio talk show hosts should inrage the Dems even more than they have been in the past. It's almost like being lumped in with Osama and al-qaeda if you oppose Bush policies. Everyone in the Kerry campaign should take exception with these remarks. In effect they besmirch the Dems as though we were all unpatriotic, al-qaeda supporters, and heartless hopeless liberals who rejoice over the deaths of innocent Spainish citizens because, according to Rush, it helps our cause. These kind of rank, indecent comments should not go unchallenged. Kerry should call Rush out and make him look like that lying, cheating, indecent un-American bastard that he is and others like him. I would approach it as an example of the hateful, spiteful, insensitive, and indecent propaganda that is tearing this country apart. Instead of spending time offering condolences and sympathies to the people of Spain...this is what we got for two solid hours. It's an example of and proof of the characteristics of the RW in this country. These are the kind of people who support Bush and they need to be challenged on every count.
