2. How great is this
I love it-I have heard more repubs voicing displeasure over Bush than I ever have heard people from one party switching over to another in my life

all those "I used to be a democrat, but not now 'cause all the democrat party does is bash our fine Christian leader" folks who call Washington Journal every day.

3. signed up to see what it was all about
Read a bit of the postings. They seem to be sincere Republicans who are sick of the Bushniks. Good for them!

4. I agree it's a good thing, but...
...weren't there quite a few negative posts here about Dean because of the "RepublicansforDean" website? I find it funny that it's only seen as a good thing when it supports Kerry.

6. I like Dean a lot, but I can explain the difference
This is not my position, but it goes like this: Some Republicans supported Dean over other Democratic candidates for the nomination because they wanted to influence our choice toward someone who they believed would be an easy candidate for Bush to defeat, rather than (fill in the blank) who they feared more. Under that theory, as soon as the Democratic nomination was settled they would immediately revert back to backing Bush, hopefully against that angry New Englander with no international experience, Dean.

In this case they are not trying to play with our nominating process, Kerry already has it in the bag. If they help Kerry now it would mean they are hurting Bush.

7. I understand your point, but if you go to the website, it's pretty clear
that they have some sound reasons for supporting Dean. It pissed me off when Kerry supporters here claimed it was because Republicans wanted Dean as the nominee and it pisses me off now that Kerry's getting mileage off of the very same thing his supporters decried.

8. Well I can understand why you are pissed off
But at this point, realistically speaking given the choices left to us, I want Kerry to get as much mileage as possible from anywhere.

9. Agreed. If the nominee must be Kerry, I want him to succeed.
However, I want the Kerry supporters on DU who made an issue of Dean's Republican support (you know who you are) to rot in Hell.
