Obama/Bebe

This thought just occurred to me.

Mike Bebe is the smartest Governor in the South, maybe the smartest in the Nation. He is as articulate as Clinton, but without luggage (or if he has it it isn't well-known). He is a Clinton supporter, but that comes with the territory. Bebe is a consensus guy, a nice guy, people like him. Most importantly, he is a southerner.

I have no affiliation with Bebe, but he might be the least controversial of Obama's choices, and he will not steal the limelight. He isn't a Washington insider.

Arkansas is a small state. He and Bill have similar humble beginnings.

Also, endorsements are forgiven once the nominee is selected. At least as things used to be. It would be a great unity symbol.

2. OK, this might be a nonstarter.

But if Bebe were well known, this wouldn't seem absurd. Think Huckabee without the nutty religious stuff.
