Last week, I wrote one comparing Martha Stewart's mini-crime to Bush's Harken stock mega-crime and they published it.
This week? Bush is soft on terror. I hope they publish it! I'm going to use a different name and town from last week. I want to try and do this once a week. I figure this is one thing that I can do to try and help get the truth out.
-------------- BUSH IS SOFT ON TERROR
George Bush is trying to focus on his image of a strong leader and protector, but the truth is that he is soft on defense. He has not properly defended this country and he obviously does not understand what needs to be done.
He ignored pleas to focus on Al Queda from the outgoing administration until 9/11 happened. Then, after delivering a few blows to Al Queda and the Taliban, all of a sudden he changed priorities. Instead of continuing the search for Osama (who had attacked the US), he decided to go after Saddam (who hadn’t). He put the majority of our resources and troops in Iraq instead of continuing on the path to dismantling Al Queda.
Bush promised us that he would protect us, that he would dismantle Al Queda, that he would get Osama dead or alive. Instead, 2.5 years later, the Taliban once again control almost 1/3 of Afghanistan and Al Queda is at full-strength, carrying out a large attack on Spain and planning another attack on US soil. And what did Saddam have? Nothing. If Bush had not switched the majority of our resources to Iraq, Al Queda may be a memory by now. Not to mention how Bush constantly protects Saudi Arabia—the country where 15 of the 9/11 hijackers were from.
We are no safer now than we were the morning of 9/11. Al Queda has the strength to repeat 9/11 at any moment now. Bush has let us down. He does not know how to handle the most basic elements of defense: identify the enemy and bring them down.
