1. Does this mean I have to start listening to Stern?

Being in the Pacific Northwest, I never found his obviously New York - centric show to be terribly relevant at 6:00 AM when I'm trying to find my brain. But if he's doing the anti Bush stuff every day, I might just have to reconsider :evilgrin:

2. He seems to be easing off somewhat.

At least it seems so from the last two days (I didn't really listen to him until people started talking about his anti-Bush* content). It's probably a good idea for him to moderate and go back to his old stuff if he wants his anti-Bush* stuff to reach people though.

3. Even before reading, I'd say yes.

Stern's fans are unique in their devotion, that's for sure. I've listened to him recently (I haven't in a while), and I was amazed by how much he talked about how badly he wants Bush gone in November. I mean, he almost sounds like he posts at these goofy forums.

Howard has the most loyal fans in media. Their relationship with him is just that, an intimate connection built on humor. And now that is threataned. Howard has had litterally dozens of calls from previous non-democrats who can't wait to vote for Kerry.

Even CRAZY CABBY called in saying he can't wait to vote for Kerry. For fans of the show, you know how much that means. The guy has been a right-winger forever

I sent Stern an email thanking him for his support along with some news stories and the URL for theocracy watch:

That Texas GOP platform should give him some good ammo. My uncle was planning on voting for W, and when I showed him the platform he admited it was written by extremists.

I know a lot of ignorant 18-22 year-olds thru work, totally bought into the system, etc etc.
AFAICT, Stern has been the one to get finally through to them, and they now at least say they are voting non-repub in 04.
Granted, many of them will probably vote non-Kerry as well, thinking (as i probably did at that age) that they are somehow above it all.

7. Of course the journalist gets it wrong

he says, like other lazy journalists on ABC i've seen, that Stern turned this way after and because of CC dropping him from there stations. When in fact they dropped him BECAUSE of it.

8. Don't get it with Stern. Porn, yeah; politics, no.

Hey, don't get me wrong, the guy has found his niche, and is richer than Cheney in doing so. But I don't get the "Stern as somebody who can influence the vote" crowd around here. Howard Stern is about my age; a baby boomer who, like Limbaugh, found an audience for his junk. If you want to vote for somebody because Howard Stern likes him/her, be my guest. Think I will look for cogent political commentary elsewhere, myself, though.

10. Have you listened to Howard Stern's show in the last three weeks?

We started listening right after he was taken off Clear Channel. I told my husband that there would be fireworks, and sure enough, there was. We're fortysomethings, live in suburbia, think we're really living it up if we go to the local bar and have one beer. We're not Stern's demographic by any stretch of the imagination. At the same time, we have been stunned by Stern's ability to get the message out: Bush is "gone", according to him. The FCC, Bush administration, and RNC have made a serious blunder in pissing him off. (Ask anyone who's crossed or underestimated him during his entire career.)

Feel free. The eight million or so that listen to Howard Stern are getting wall-to-wall anti-Bush, all the time. Howard's beating Bush like a piece of bad meat, and his listeners are getting the point. He's also offering supplemental reading on the subject on his website, and it looks like the listeners are going for that as well.

I'd rather win by 5-6 million than 500,000.

11. Stern has always been invilved in politics

I've listen to him for years, and I'm an ole lady in her late 60's. I have heard him talk to many politicians and be interested. Yes reprug party, but he still has had an interest, and I feel he is honest in what he feels and says . I am just sorry that I can longer hear him in Fl. ,but glad to hear he is kicking ass about bush.

9. Yes, he can effect it.

He has 19 million listeners, many of whom are dedicated to him and will do whatever he says. He definitely can shock the vote. Stern Rules!
