Here's a campaign tactic for Kerry to use when bush floats another attack ad: rate the ad's truthfulness using the same color-coded system the bushies use for terror alerts. The tactic would bring focus to bush's lies while simultaneously making a joke of a system that everybody considers...a joke. Here's my proposed levels:
GREEN - this ad contains at least 95% truth and offers fair debating points. We will be happy to debate Gov bush on theses points anywhere, any time.
BLUE - only about 75% true. We've pointed out the mendacious 25%. Make up your own mind about people who lie/can't tell the whole truth...like the bushies can't.
YELLOW - this ad is 50% truth twisted to make John Kerry look bad by adding 50% worth of falsehoods/mis-quotes/out-of-context remarks and the like. We will point out these falsehoods and request the bushies do a better job next time.
ORANGE - less than 25% truth. This ad is shamefully mendacious, and we will respond only to the most outrageous lies that are told throughout the ad.
RED - absolute bullshit. There isn't even a hint of truth in this ad. They're just making shit up at this point. We call on the president to personally repudiate this ad OR to provide substantive, unedited, credible proof that this ad isn't a bald-faced lie.
Of course, all of the ads will be tagged orange or red...but that's not Kerry's fault, is it?
On edit: added blue.
