Timing is everything
ShrubCo knows this better than anyone, so you gota hit em back.

The best time to announce that Clark is the VP should be made about three weeks before the convention.
And before the announcement, it should be leaked two days before and then followed up by a big event.

This is the maximum 'bite' in terms of media coverage and of course with Clark as the VP would make everyone at ease with this....

1. A different VP plan
Leak a VP in April. Somebody who will really get the right riled up, like Hillary. Let them go wild on her. Really show their rabid craziness. Then announce the real VP at the convention.
