How much does Nader have to poll to become "viable"?
If he starts getting 10%, 12% in national polls, will they let him into the debates?

2. I stand by my prediction that he will endorse Kerry eventually
that's why he is running as an Independent in my opinion.

3. Most national and state polls
have him gettin 7-9%. It's a concern. If Kerry falters and more liberals flock to Nader in polls, they might let him into the debates and it'll be a disaster for Kerry.

6. Whoa, Sharpton?
Since Al could not garner anywhere near that polling per cent with Dems does that mean disgruntled GOPers are that those odd points?

To improve in the polls over his election performance last time taking into account second thoughts and the current situation, Nader would have to bring about peace in the Middle East and an economic miracle all by his lonesome. Results too. Being right never guaranteed votes.

This is a patent scam to boost Nader.

Most of the worst attacks lately are on the flanks. The frontal assaults are few and miserable.

7. Quit complaining
about those to the left of Kerry and start listening to them!!! They are as interested in the future of the country as anyone and a lot of them could get really enthusiastic about Kerry if he just took a stronger stance on a few of the issues. His health care plan is another non-plan designed to appease the insurance industry while appearing to do something.

When Kerry calls The repugs liars and crooks he should stand up and say it LOUDER instead of backing off as he did recently. A lot of people who are really tired of the direction this country is taking don't see Kerry as much of a change. Okay he'll fix a few of the out and out disasters but he's still going to be driving toward the same cliff.

He was a much more serious "threat" (if that is what he was), last time. What goes unacknowledged in the relentless propaganda campaign of blame shifting is that the overwhelming majority of Nader supporters voted Gore out of justifiable fear of the Bush evildoers. His support was 20% last time, and much higher in terms of people who wanted him IN the debates. When the Democratic Party leadership had him not only excluded from participation BUT "escorted" (thrown out by force) out of the audience, they certainly forfeited any expectations of any cooperation from Nader himself. They also forfeited any claim to democratic principals of freedom and open discussion of issues, sometimes called freedom of speech, the fundamental tenant of a democratic society. They chose to be as repressive and fascist as the Bush oligarchy who earned their infamy back in pappy's mano a mano debate tactic with Reagan. Reagan apparently strongly disliked GHWB's whimpy scheming intransigence, and was handed GHWB as a VP by some typical Bush machinations involving Gerald Ford's last minute prick teasing distractions in order to slide the real Satan in as his VP and would be early replacement. Let us not pretend GHWB and company arent at the helm of our Executive branch. Let's not pretend things didnt happen the way they did and expect a satisfactory result in the end, because that is rather unlikely. Gullible sheep not only get fleeced, they often get fucked and eaten.

11. thanks tinanator
I've felt so very all alone in here lately...

The Democratic party is seen by a lot of folks who really believe in and want a democratic government to be not much better than the opposition. They would when a lot of support if they were seen to be fair to Nader and interested in increasing the participation of other parties instead of in collusion with the repugs to shut everyone else out.

17. You beat me to it. That is what the other Dem candidates
needed to gain delegates, so it seems a reasonable threshold for Nader as well.

Also saw a Zogby poll somewhere around here showing Nader far below the 6% suggested in the original post here, and more along the lines of between 1% to 2% like I would suspect.

to have even a one in a zillion shot at winning an electoral victory there is absolutely no rationale for you to debate.

Right, one-percenters, there is the write-in possibility. In that case, every natural born citizen above the age of thirty five should be invited to debate since we all share the write-in possibility and a statistically equal chance of winning the presidency as Fidelity Ralph.
