Dean's legions of supporters, including those in the Inland area, are steadfastly standing with him. On Thursday, Dean announced that his new organization, Democracy for America, will recruit progressive candidates to run for Congress, state legislatures and city councils nationwide.

Many of the Inland supporters strategize every Wednesday in a Riverside coffee shop. They discuss how they should support the likely Democrat nominee, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, and talk about raising money to pay for radio ads criticizing President Bush.

In announcing that he was forming a new grass-roots organization that will focus on issues such as universal healthcare, cleaning up the environment and campaign-finance reform, Dean will work not only to unseat Bush, but also to provide a "campaign in a box" model to recruit and fund progressive candidates who support Dean's ideals.
"It's your job to make sure that never again does the Democratic Party lay down and die and stop fighting," Dean told about 500 cheering supporters gathered at a rally in Seattle Thursday morning.
