Kerry and Iraq: Hillary, Hagel, McCain
I just saw Hillary last week at the JFK Library, and she was asked how she (and by implication, Kerry) could attack Bush on Iraq after having voted for the IRW.

She gave an astute, if politic, though also VERY true answer.

She said she wanted to get Saddam out because he was evil, and the IRW looked like it would help that to happen.

However, she went on, it turned out that Bush had hyped the the gravity of the threat to the USA, for which he should answer, and he had been shockingly incompetent in planning and in responding to contingencies, for which he must also answer.

Now. Would somebody tell me why that argument wouldn't appeal to a clear majority of the electorate if Kerry made it, especially if it was backed up by such deliberative men as Hagel and McCain?

1. Sounds like a short and sweet answer, that many people could
understand.

Let's see if Kerry is wise enough to use it...

He really has to keep things short and simple for the third grade minds of most Americans...

3. Did that include killing 10,000 innocent civilians in the bombing?

Did it occur to that woman, Ms Hillary, to ask the people of Iraq if they wanted to be bombed, strafed with depleted uranium, and occupied by the US for years to come?

I hope that Hillary is not on anyone's VP list!

5. Ummm.
Your objection is covered by the second half of her argument:

Bad planning and responding to contingencies.

6. End justifies the means? Besides, we all know this war was sold
on the basis of defending america and the world against imminent, potentialy catastrophic harm. THAT is what hillary voted for, and it was BS then, and her ass-covering spin is BS now.

Why not try to defeat evil?
