Democrats sabotaging Kerry's campaign?
Edited on Mon Mar-22-04 11:20 AM by fujiyama
Is it just me or does it seems like several democrats are sabotaging Kerry's campaign? It seems as though the two Joes -- Joe Biden and Joe Lieberman are both undercutting Kerry when it comes to defense by brushing off Clarke's serious claims.

Hell, Hagel and McCain have defended Kerry more than those two.

Fortunately, there there are two democrats out there doing a lot -- Wes Clark and Howard Dean -- the two nontraditional ex candidates.

With the exception of Harold Ford (who's defense of Kerry wasn't that impressive as he agrees with Bush on too many issues), Wes Clarl, Howard Dean, and Ted Kennedy, I haven't seen many democrats coming out and defending Kerry.

On Edit: I thought I heard Biden somehow brushing off Clarke's claims here in a thread somewhere. If he didn't, then my mistake.

1. Biden
I thought he did okay on This Week yesterday. He sounded like an elder statesman giving Kerry advice. I didn't find it damaging.

Did he say something else that I missed?

8. Joe Biden is one of John Kerry's closest friends

He's an leading adviser to the campaign and a really great guy. I find it more than somewhat hard to believe he's trying to undercut Kerry.

2. What do you expect
from Lieberman?

He's always been a DINO.

I wish he'd make it official and become a Repuke. He belongs with them.

5. Joe Lieberman has been doing that for months
It wouldn't surprise me to know that he still is.

I'm not sure why he considers himself to be in the same party as the people of whom he so publicly insults the ideas, motives and actions.

10. Lieberman is a crypto-PNACer
Hell, he wrote most of the Homeland Subjugation bill. I'd guess that he was working for Wolfowitz, and indirectly, Bush.

He was on Fox yesterday, trashing Richard Clarke. According to AP.

Sen. Joe Lieberman, D(?)-Conn., said Sunday (on Fox) he doesn't believe Clarke's charge that Bush--who defeated him and former Vice President Al Gore in the 2000 election--was focused more on Iraq than al-Qaida during the days after the terror attacks.

Emphasis added.

7. Biden says that Kerry has great credibility in foreign relations.
I've always found him to be really supportive of Kerry.

9. Joe Lieberman is covering his sorry ass
on the war. He knows he was wrong but isn't man enough to admit it. His loyalty is to Israel.

11. Here is the Biden quote I think you were referring to:
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=544&u=/ap/20040322/ap_on_go_pr_wh/terrorism_adviser_18&printer=1

And Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., said Sunday on ABC's "This Week" that while he has been critical of Bush policies on Iraq, "I think it's unfair to blame the president for the spread of terror and the diffuseness of it. Even if he had followed the advice of me and many other people, I still think the same thing would have happened."

16. lol
People sure miss these little digs sometimes. "Even if he had followed the advice of me and many other people", which is point blank saying Bush didn't listen to anybody.

12. What the heck is Edwards up to?
His Web site hasn't been updated, I haven't seen/heard him on any news programs, etc.

Why the seclusion?

15. I don't know about Biden;
I read Lieberman's quotes in this morning's paper and was shocked. You'd think he wanted 4 more years of Bush.

Ted Kennedy has been defending Kerry? I'm glad he could find the time; he's been awfully busy gushing over Arnold lately. :grr:
