Good article reports on fact that Sen. Charles Hagel on Sunday became the second Republican senator to break ranks with the Bush-Cheney campaign's characterization of John Kerry, the presumptive Democratic nominee, as soft on defense issues. Hagel joined fellow Vietnam veteran Sen. John McCain in criticizing ads sponsored by the Bush campaign that call Kerry, a senator from Massachusetts who also is a Vietnam veteran, "weak on defense."

1. Thank you Senator Hagel
It's nice to know that there are at least a few Republicans with integrity.

3. This is what I like to see
GOP's with some integrity. They are willing to break party ranks to do what is right. Refreshing to see pols who really belive in what they stand for, rather than just doing it for the money.

5. Hagel's seems like a straight talker
Some of what he said on "This Week" was quite astounding, they were talking about R. Clarke's book and Hagel says this is a serious indictment and went on to say that the meetings Clarke said he wasn't getting was a serious problem....

Also at one point Biden was saying that he didn't believe that the Bushies were so obsessed with Iraq even though some were telling him that, and pats Hagel on the leg. *wink wink*
