I just received an email from the Russ Feingold campaign asking for contributions. He needs help fighting the media onslaught from the RWers. He needs to raise $25,000 by next Wednesday. If you can, please donate to this wonderful man? :) Thanks.

Dear *****,

If you recall my first campaign for the U.S. Senate in 1992, you might remember that people considered me a long-shot. I was a Wisconsin state senator running against an incumbent U.S. Senator with deep-pockets and the resources of the national Republican machine.

It was a tough campaign. The incumbent – Sen. Robert Kasten – had the money to run slick commercials that falsely attacked my record. But thanks to the financial support of friends like you, we responded with a series of compelling campaign ads of our own. These ads made a significant difference.

From now until the September 14 primary, the four Republicans running for my seat will all be attacking me, on TV and in the media, for my work to protect and create jobs and to fight for affordable health care for families and businesses. My opponents will attack me because I have been willing to ask the tough questions of this Administration.

That’s why it is so important that I have the money available right now to produce a media campaign that responds to the Republican attacks against my record. If I wait until October to respond, it could be too late!

A successful media campaign will complement our growing efforts on the ground. We are already well on our way to having one of the largest volunteer grassroots organizations in Wisconsin history, but it is critical that we can be competitive on the airwaves too!

Feingold is one of the few really remarkable Senators we have. As he demonstrated when he was the ONLY U.S. Senator to vote against the Patriot Act, he is not afraid to stand up for what he believes is right. (Besides, my son works for him, so I want him to keep his job! :) )

so we KNOW that even with small contributors, we can have beaucoup funds. So all is not lost.

11. Can people outside WI donate?

For some reason I am under the impression that Feingold doesn't accept contributions from non-residents of WI? Or am I mistaken?
